Two former allies of Gov. Chris Christie were loyal

lieutenants who used their government powers to punish political targets.
That idea formed the centerpiece of the governments closing arguments Friday at the federal trial in
Newark of Bridget Anne Kelly and Bill Baroni, who are
accused of participating in and covering up the politically-motivated closure of access lanes to the George
Washington Bridge.
In a summation lasting about four hours, Assistant
U.S. Attorney Lee Cortes said that Kelly, the governors
former deputy chief of staff, and Baroni, the governors
former top executive appointee at the Port Authority of
New York and New Jersey, shared an intense commitment to the political success of Governor Chris Christie.
They saw themselves as his loyal lieutenants who
were free to use their government jobs to launch political attacks and who never attempted to separate politics from their jobs in public service, Cortes said.

SEASIDE HEIGHTS - Chaos erupted at an event

commemorating the fourth anniversary of superstorm
Sandy on Friday, forcing Gov. Chris Christie to temporarily leave the lectern where he was delivering a
speech about recovery.
Christie was at Jimbos Bar and Grill on the Boardwalk in Seaside Heights when he was interrupted by
protesters after he stated that of the 365,000 homes that
sustained damaged in the Oct. 29, 2012, disaster there
were 1,700 homes that still were uninhabitable.
Governor, thats not true, called out Amanda Devecka-Rinear of the New Jersey Organizing Project,
who was seated near the media in the back of the bar.

passed, the Asbury Park Press began tracking the
lives of those with homes destroyed in one of the hardest hit Shore communities. Nearly four years later,
here are some of their stories.
ORTLEY BEACH - Late last month, residents of
this small oceanfront community got some great
news.
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers was at last going out to bid on a massive beach replenishment and
dune building project for northern Ocean County,
and will bring some protection and soothe the
