In my concentration, I explore the moon as a symbol primarily in western art, as well as
throughout different cultures. Using evidence from archeological findings, writings, as well as modern representations of this subject, the pieces feature the employment of this symbol and its culturally subjective meaning. The concentration also features the subject as a purely aesthetic theme as well, and will attempt, obviously, to convey technical skill with certain media, as well as the pensive quality of the complex meanings of the subject throughout history. This will convey the evolution of the symbol of the moon, notably in modern globalized culture, and outtakes on its future as a cultural phenomenon.
