other uses as long as it is done in accordance with the terms
of use speci!ed on the Map Licenses page, namely, that (1)
the copyright statement and "watermark" are not removed,
(2) the graphic is not modi!ed, and (3) no more than three of
these graphics are used in any one publication or internet
site. Any other use requires prior written permission from SIL
International. The map bears a watermark to remind users
that it is not for distribution to others, either in print or as a
computer !le, except as noted above.

Each Ethnologue map is available under an academic license

that allows you to use a high-resolution, watermark-free
version of the map in a single academic publication provided
that you comply with the speci!ed terms of use. When you
purchase this license, you are able to download the map as a
5.75 x 8.75 inch 300 dpi TIFF !le. This !le uses the CMYK color
model which is optimal for printing. In short, the terms of use
authorize you to use the map in a single academic
publication, but not to distribute the !le itself. See the Map
