speaking skill from applying task-based activities. Firstly, students act out a variety of roles by communicating with their partners. Through some activities such as interviews, role-plays and surveys, the students can develop their practical language that can be used in their daily life. Secondly, collaborative studying is usually developed in task-based activities. They offer students opportunities to work in pairs or groups. Therefore, students may learn from each other to improve their English skills, especially speaking skill. Last but not least, students feel more confident and speak English more fluently when they participate in task-based activities. Willis (1996: 35 6) identified that task-based activities develop students confidence that they can achieve communicative goals. To sum up, applying task-based activities effectively is to help students enhance their speaking skill. References
