1.0 TITLE : Plastic Injection Moulding

2.0 OBJECTIVES:
1. To study the principle operation of a plastic injection moulding machine
2. To produce a simple plastic product using the mould and machine
3. To inspect the quality of product generated using the machine
3.0 INTRODUCTION:
An Injection molding machine, also known as an injection press, is a
machine for manufacturing plastic products by the injection molding
process. The plastic injection device works by heating the plastic material
& injecting into mold cavity. It can be ideal, because it may generate
stronger and precise products. The mold injection will permit the leftover
plastics to be reused and melted again. The plastic injection molding

machine can be the essential in the process of manufacturing of plastic

parts.
4.0 APPARATUS
MATERIALS: Plastic pellets or any other materials in the lab
EQUIPMENT: Plastic Injection Moulding Machin
5.0 EXPERIMENTAL PROCEDURE
i. To prepare/fix the mould in place
ii. Mixing and preparing the pellets into the hopper
iii. Generate the injection moulding machine using appropriate
temperature and conditions.
iv. Parting the mold and obtain the product
V. Inspect the product quality
6.0 RESULTS & DATA ANALYSIS
Demonstrate the principle operation of plastic injection moulding using
appropriate diagrams. Label all the parts in the machine and explain the
functionality of each section.
7.0 DISCUSSION OF RESULT
By inspecting the product obtained, discussed the possible defects
occurred after the injection moulding process. Discuss parameters
involved to produce the plastic products.
