Speak to Me

Breathe
On the Run
Time
Breathe (Reprise)
The Great Gig in the Sky
Money
Us and Them
Any Colour You Like
Brain Damage
Eclipse
Played in that order.
Technically 4 of the tracks aren't songs, but it spoils the flow if you don't li
sten to them, so I'll leave them in.
In other words it's very much a complete album and should be treated as such.
I wouldn't dream of ranking the songs and firmly believe nobody else should atte
mpt to.

Time
Really? Do I HAVE to choose the best song from this album? This actually took a
really long time to figure out what was the best, but I decided it was Time. Tim
e starts out with an amazing intro that is nice and slow and builds up some grad
ual tension. You can't wait till the song starts and it does it hits hard. I als
o love the vocals. The lyrics, thought provoking. I love the way David Gilmour s
ings the song. The EPIC guitar solo is one of the highlights too. The hard rock
theme of this song always sticks in my mind and is really catchy. Before the son
g ends, you get Breathe (Reprise). This is probably the best part of the song. T
he way David says "When I come home cold and tired, its good to warm myself besi
des the fire" is just amazing. I love Pink Floyd and anything they do. This has
got to be my favorite song of the album! - cadencr22M+8
No doubt about that! The best from this album. And one of the best lyrics ever w
ritten. Sometimes I got mad idea paint my 4 walls in my room with lyrics from th
is masterpiece! We cannot waste our time guys!M+23

Money
Brilliant bass line, fantastic solos and completely true lyrics. This should be
number 1, although it's only slightly better than TimeM+13

This song has a unique tempo unlike any other... well except Tool.M+5
I was shocked that this song wasn't number 1! It's an absolutely timeless classi

Us and Them
The transition from Money to this song is so smooth and gradual. Dick Parry's sa
xophone performance is right up there as one of the greatest sax performances of
all time. David Gilmour's vocals provide the feeling of not being sane, and whe
n Richard Wright comes in with his harmonies, it is like the sanity has complete
ly gone. Throw in a speaking part near the end of the song, and you have the mos
t powerful and impactful song off of DSOTM. - c0mf0rta61ynum6M+8
Gorgeous. Really beautiful and one of two of the songs that Richard Wright reall
y shows his prowess. The themes of alienation, conflict and abandonment echo thr
oughout a Pink Floyd's career, but they are rarely stronger than they are here.M

And in the end, its only round and round... And round.
Applies well to our current Politics/Congress in America. Lots of up, downs, rou
nd and rounds.
And nothing really changes.
Just like the Owners like it.M+4

The Great Gig In the Sky
Was actually the first pink floyd song I'd ever heard and remains my favourite,
the emotion laid bare in those vocals just make me want to cry whenever I hear i
t. It's brilliant because the despair/ euphoria in the vocals is undefined, it c
an represent anything beautiful or tragic in my opinionM+10
My second favorite song from the album! Also has my second favorite vocal perfor
mance of all time in music! Clare Torry's voice is instantly calming and beautif
ul even though her singing on this song is wordless and full of despair; I find
that the fact that there are no words to this song makes it better. LOVE Clare T
orry's voice and originality with her performance on this song, and also Rick Wr
ight's piano playing, just as much 'The Great Gig in the Sky' is an absolute cla
ssic & I knew from the very first time I heard it that it I loved it, it would b
ecome one of my top 10 songs of all time later- This song is the most underrated
song of all time in my opinion.M
I was listening to the dark side of the moon for the first time, slightly bored
by it until this song came on. The raw emotions presented instantly had me inter
ested in the band and now I'm not sure where I would be without Pink Floyd. Not
the flashiest tune on the album, just emotional and moving.M+1
My first floyd song!Mnew

This is such a political song and it is so good! This song should be the theme s
ong of the album if albums had theme songs. I belive this is my Favorite song al
ong with on the run thank you Pink Floyd for these 2 wonderful songs!M+7
really should be called the dark side of the moon because its the only song that
has those words in the lyricsM+7
The most recognizable song from the whole album. This song always cracked me up
"... And if the band your in starts playing' different tunes..." Plus it goes in
to Eclipse perfectlyM+2

Best song ever.Mnew

Eclipse
All that you touch
All that you see
All that you taste
All you feel
All that you love
All that you hate
All you distrust
All you save
All that you give
All that you deal
All that you buy
Beg, borrow or steal
All you create
All you destroy
All that you do
All that you say
All that you eat
Everyone you meet
All that you slight
Everyone you fight
All that is now
All that is gone
All that's to come
And everything under the sun is in tune
But the sun is eclipsed by the moon.
There is no dark side of the moon really.
Matter of fact it's all dark.M+17
Brain Damage/Eclipse together like how it's played on the radio is by far the be
st song on this albumM+9
Perfectly, and I mean perfectly, summarises the album.M+1
