HEAD SAFETY, HEALTH, ENVIRONMENT AND QUALITY (SHEQ)

Location:
At the Companys Works at Paloncha, (Khammam District, Telangana), which has full-fledged
residential, educational and recreational facilities in its salubrious township.
Role:
The incumbent will be responsible for the Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality functions of
both the Ferro Alloy Plant and Power Plants and supporting line management for achieving
SHEQ objectives.
Responsibilities:

Implementation of measures to comply with SHEQ-related regulations, rules and Company


standards

Training employees and contract workmen on fire prevention, health and safety awareness.

Conducting site inspections and ensuring strict compliance of safety & health procedures,
environmental stipulations and quality standards.

Continuous improvement of SHEQ practices.

Developing SHEQ Communication System including written information, tool box talks and
management briefs.

Ensuring timely audits of Integrated Management System and coordination for effective
implementation of auditors recommendations.

Providing support and expertise to line management in incident investigation and reporting.

Conducting occupational health and safety related surveys e.g. noise, lighting, exposure to
chemical substances, etc. and making appropriate recommendations.

Developing yearly SHEQ action plan and reporting monthly progress to Management.

Reporting:
The incumbent will head the SHEQ functions and report to the Executive Vice President at
Paloncha.

Qualifications:
Graduate in Mechanical/ Electrical/ Chemical Engineering
Diploma in Industrial Safety (recognized by State Govt. under the provisions of Factories Act.)
Diploma in Environmental Science.
Experience:
15 20 years experience in SHEQ functions in Medium / Large Scale manufacturing industry.

Good communication skills in Telugu and English.

Good interpersonal, problem-solving and analytical skills.

High degree of SHEQ consciousness with proactive attitude and persuasive skills.

High commitment to statutory and regulatory compliances.

Excellent liaison skills.
