Goal:
Through a social media photo contest at Founders Day of Service, the Conservancy
and VMO will give away a REI NPS Centennial backpack at the Founders Day of
Service event. Through this social media contest, the VMO and Conservancy will
raise awareness of service events in the park as well as gain followers on all three
social media platforms; Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
Objectives:
1. Give away REI NPS Centennial Backpack through a photo contest at the
Founders Day of service event using the hashtag #celebrateandserveCVNP
2. Raise awareness of days of service, drop ins, and service projects in the park
3. Increase followers and likes on all three social media platforms: Facebook,
Instagram, and Twitter
Facebook: One Percent Increase
For CVNP Current Likes: 8,220
CVNP Current Likes: 11,768 Likes
Instagram: Two Percent Increase
For CVNP Current Followers: 2,463
CVNP Current Followers: 2,462 followers
Twitter: Two Percent Increase
For CVNP Current Followers: 3,219 Followers
CVNP Current Followers: 4,743 Followers
Strategies and Tactics:
1. At the Founders Day of service event the Conservancy and VMO will have a
photo contest in order to give away a REI NPS Centennial Backpack to a
follower and participant using the hashtag #celebrateandserveCVNP
Tactics:
- Post about Founders Day of Service to increase event participation
- Inform event participants of the contest in the event email
- At check in make participants aware of the ongoing contest
- Throughout the event have site leaders remind participants of the contest
- Encourage participants to post pictures on Instagram, Twitter and
Facebook using the hashtag #celebrateandserveCVNP
- At the end of the event choose one follower/participant to win the
backpack
2. At the Founders Day of Service, the VMO and Conservancy will gain new
followers to the three social media pages. Through these social media outlets,
the VMO and Conservancy will help to raise awareness of the days of service,
drop ins, and service projects in the park to participants and followers.
Tactics:
- Increase social media posts about days of service, drop in events, and
general service events that are happening throughout the park
Post once a month on the social media outlets about service event that
are happening in the park
