Anthropology is the study of

what makes us human. The
anthropologists consider the
past, through archaeology,
to see how human groups
lived hundreds or thousands
of years ago and what was
important to them.

Points of
interest

They consider what makes

up our biological bodies and
genetics, as well as our
bones, diet, and health
through biological
anthropology.
Anthropologists also
compare humans with other
animals (most often, other
primates like monkeys and
chimpanzees) to see what
we have in common with
them and what makes us
unique.
Anthropologists also try to
understand how people
interact in social
relationships (for example
with families and friends)
through cultural
anthropology. They look at
the different ways people
dress and communicate in
different societies.

Psychology is the
scientific study of the
mind and
behaviour. Psychology
is a multifaceted
discipline and includes
many sub-fields of
study such areas as
human development,
sports, health, clinical,
social behaviour and
cognitive processes.

Sociology is the study

of human social
relationships and
institutions.
Sociologys subject
matter is diverse,
ranging from crime to
religion, from the
family to the state,
from the divisions of
race and social class
to the shared beliefs of
a common culture, and
from social stability to
radical change in
whole societies.
Unifying the study of
these diverse subjects
of study is sociologys
purpose of
understanding how
human action and
consciousness both
shape and are shaped
by surrounding cultural
and social structures.

Environmental
psychology is an
interdisciplinary field
that focuses on the
interplay between
individuals and their
surroundings. The field
defines the term
environment broadly,
encompassing natural
environments, social
settings, built
environments, learning
environments, and
informational
environments.

Anthropology focuses on
culture.
