Area of Roof: 103.82 sq. m.

Refer to table 9-1. Under 4% slope, 103.82
sq. m. is within the limit of 170 sq. m. roof
area which could be serve effectively by a
75mm. pipe diameter.

AREAS:
ROOF A (4% SLOPE) =
ROOF B (4% SLOPE) =
ROOF C (2% SLOPE) =

65.57 sq. m.
13.57 sq. m.
7.34 sq. m.

The gross sectional area of a 50mm (2) is

3.14 sq. in. greater than 3.36 sq. in. Therefore,
specify 2pcs. 50mm diameter pipe.
Therefore, use the following size of
downspout for each roof:
ROOF A:
From table 9-2, specify 75mm pipe diameter.
But, for efficiency, use 3pcs. 50mm pipe
diameter.
Computation:
Area = 0.7854 x d2
Area = 0.7854 x 9 = 7.07 sq. in.
Divide into three terminals = 2.36 sq. in.
The gross sectional area of a 50mm (2) is
3.14 sq. in. greater than 3.36 sq. in. Therefore,
specify 3pcs. 50mm diameter pipe.

For the dimension of Roof Gutter, from Table

9-2, use 100mm and for roof leader
diameter, use 50mm. (Same diameter of
downspout)

SIZE OF SEPTIC TANK:

For a family of 6 persons, the minimum tank
capacity should approximately 1.3 cubic
meters with a minimum size of:
90 cm wide
150 cm - long
120cm depth

ROOF B:
From table 9-2, specify 75mm pipe diameter.
But, for efficiency, use 3pcs. 50mm pipe
diameter.
Computation:
Area = 0.7854 x d2
Area = 0.7854 x 9 = 7.07 sq. in.
Divide into three terminals = 2.36 sq. in.

Dimension: 150cm x 90cm x 120cm

The gross sectional area of a 50mm (2) is

3.14 sq. in. greater than 3.36 sq. in. Therefore,
specify 3pcs. 50mm diameter pipe.
TABLE 5-2 SIZE OF HORIZONTAL FIXTURE BRANCH

ROOF C:
From table 9-2, specify 75mm pipe diameter.
But, for efficiency, use 3pcs. 50mm pipe
diameter.
Computation:

ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

First, I would like to express my sincere gratitude to my professor, Bro. Raffy T. Delos
Reyes, for the continuous support of my plumbing design, for his patience, motivation, and
immense knowledge. His guidance helped me in all the time of thinking and creating of this
design. I could not have imagined having a better advisor and mentor for my CE211- Plumbing
Design study.
Besides my professor, I thank to my high school friend, Jona Mariz M. Macalalad and
my dorm mate, Angel C. Pegollo III, for showing their own plumbing designs that helped me a
lot to finish this design, for their opinions and comments, and for all the fun we have. I also
thank my family: my parents and to my sister, for their endless support and love. They became
my inspiration in creating this design.
And most of all, I thank our Almighty God that gave me strength, power and intelligence.
This would not have been possible without His help and guidance. All this is for His glory.
