Post Section
Untill the last year ,the postal services were exclusively provided by Post Co. of the Islamic Rep. of
Iran, and was totally a state-owned entity. By ratification of governing principles over License of First
Operator of postal service at Communications Regulatory Commission and granting the first license
of postal operator by the Regulatory, our country officially entered into the phase of privatization in the
field of post.
Allocatingrationaltariffsforpostalservicesandprovidingserviceswithdefinedconditionsandframework
in the country, are of the first attainments of privatization in the country and has made a good market
for domestic and foreign investment. Ratifying the accurate definitions of the Postal Activities is one of
the most important activities of the CRA in the last year. Identifying and organizing all postal activities
based on definitions of the Postal Activities, liberalization and privatization in this sector, licensing to
the second and third Postal Operators, augmenting the quality of the postal services, paying special
attention to the customers in this field and development of the Postal sector are the next plans for the
Communications Regulatory Authority.
39
he investments made by nine licensee groups in the ICT basin arena by the end of 2011 and the
foreseen investment for this sector in the 5th 5-year Development Plan (2011~2114) indicates the high
potential of this sector for new markets, and especially in the field of IT services.
