The Valerius Papers No 1

Revolution
We, the Citizens of America, are under attack. The Federal Government has broken its
bonds and now runs amok, aloof of and deaf to its constituents. Those who were once the ones
with the true power of government are now at the mercy of it. Our government provides for its
own self and its politicians at the expense of the People, its former masters. There are many
reasons for why this has happened. What is most alarming is that the People have allowed it.
We the People have forgotten who we are. Our government needs to be reminded who
they are, and we will be the ones to do it. America's Constitution was founded to create a
government for the People and by the People. This means that the laws would be created by the
elected People for their own benefit, with the government being run by everyday men and
women from the masses as Elected Representatives. The laws that the founders created were
intended to protect our individual freedoms and liberties. That is the only reason why laws
should be enacted. The People need to remember who we are. WE ARE THE GOVERNMENT.
The term "The People" has led the inhabitants of this country to think that there is a
distinction between themselves and their elected Representatives. The People should know they
are Citizens, men, and women who are more than just inhabitants, taxpayers, and commoners.
Through the Representatives we the Citizens govern. Their Representatives are accountable to
the Citizens through the vote, and ought to be only accountable to them. There should be no
marked distinction between the Representative and Citizen. Representatives are drawn from the
Citizens and should return to private life no more elevated than they had been when they left.
The Representative should once again become unified with the inhabitants, one who can
appropriately and effectively represent their constituents, the Citizens. They should be one of
us', distinct only by the title and office. We should appoint them to an office because they
represent us as Citizens, not because of party affiliation. The name Representative should be a
temporary placeholder given to the man or woman elected to be a civil servant until they once
again return to their brothers and sisters, still as a Citizen. We must make sure they remember
that they are literal servants, not kings. Servitude does not constitute abuse or a lowly existence,
but the Representatives are answerable to the Citizens. We the People are the Citizens of the
United States. Remember that the Representatives are the Citizens. Under the design of the
Constitution, the Representatives and Citizens one.
Many of the men and women we have trusted over the years to represent us have
betrayed their fellow Citizens. The Institution of Government that is the United States
Constitution has become possessed by those who use it for their own gain, abusing the power
that the Citizens allowed it to have. It is no longer a government for the People by the People.
Ours is now a government stolen from the People by the politicians, for the highest bidder. How
long will we, the Citizens of the United States, allow our Institution that has led America through
the darkest of times, be perverted and twisted to take away Freedoms by the cancer that grips it?
I say not one more day. Our Constitution needs to change if it is to survive and not fade into

history for our grandchildren to mere tales of. Shall we continue to allow the Institutions that
protect the Freedom and Liberties of individuals to be chipped away by the avarice of our
officeholders? No. There must be a Second American Revolution.
Blood does not have to shed during this Revolution. There is too much loss of life in this
world already. The only fatalities needed in this Revolution are the careers of those politicians
who have betrayed the Citizens. Our Founding Fathers knew the horrors of war, many
intimately. They fought that long, hard, First Revolution to earn the Freedoms they so desired,
the Freedoms that are Natural Rights for every human being, not just the Citizens of the United
States. They knew that those Freedoms, many laid out in our Constitution, that were hard fought
and won, could easily be taken away by even a few. They knew that Freedoms can be stripped
from Citizens by outside aggressors, but they also knew that a Government can turn on its own
people. With this knowledge in mind, they provided us, the future Citizens of this nation, with a
way to protect themselves: The Bill of Rights.
The Bill of Rights, or the first Ten Amendments to the Constitution, protects each
individual Citizen against the abuses of government. For examples the Citizens can protect
themselves through the right to due process of law, the right of states to wield power not given to
the federal government, the right to bear arms, the right to free speech, press, assembly, and
petition. The Ninth Amendment notes that these rights are not the only ones Citizens enjoy and
that there are many more freedoms not expressed by the Constitution.
Time and time again these rights have been overlooked, and even blatantly denounced,
by our elected officials and others in power. Why do we allow this? Citizens may hear of it
happening, see it on the news, or online and think "I'm glad that's not me", or "It's not happening
en masse, I am unaffected, why bother?" Brothers and sisters if only one Citizen is mistreated by
our government we are all wronged. Even if you are ideologically opposed we should step in and
advocate for them. Heed the wisdom of the adage used by American Patriots throughout history,
"I completely disagree with what you say and will defend to the death your right to say it."
Subversion of our fundamental rights has become commonplace. Many Citizens applaud the
assault on these Freedoms because they provide them a victory over an ideological enemy. I
caution these Citizens to be wary. Government oppression beginning with one can lead to the
oppression of millions. Ask those who lived through the Holocaust.
Although we cannot forget the importance of all the other amendments that make up the
Bill of Rights, the first two amendments are the ones that offer the most immediate protection to
the Citizen. We should interpret the Second Amendment as "Citizens have the right to own
weapons to provide for the defense of their freedom." I stated that this Revolution needed to
happen peacefully. An armed populace is how that is afforded. It protects us from our crooked,
usurpatory government from rounding up all dissenters and imprisoning them. Means of defense
from the government is what separates Citizens from Subjects. That is why the First Amendment
is another and first means of defense. With the practice religion being a known protected
freedom, we should interpret the First Amendment as such "Citizens have the right to speech,
press, assembly, and petition to provide for the defense of their freedom." We need to do our
utmost to ensure that First Amendment is the only weapon of war in this Second Revolution.

Once again, my fellow Citizens, there must be a Second Revolution. We will not rush
into the streets and mount heads on pikes. We must flood the internet, the television networks,
the airwaves, and broadcast our message loud and clear that we have had enough! We must
practice our freedom of assembly and speech. Organize events to gather those like-minded
individuals from the shadows. We must petition our local, state, and federal governments for
them to take action and correct mistakes as needed. We must be our own press, broadcasting the
truth and injustices through competent and professional manners. The press that most American
Citizens get their information from is fraught with lies and deceit. The same powers that have
captured our Institutions have a grasp just as tight, if not tighter, on the mainstream media. We
must be informed and vote. Our votes are one of the quickest ways to change our government.
Vote not only for the President but vote for your local and state officials. Seek out the true
Representatives and if you cannot find them, run for office! The Citizens must become reengaged in the political arena. This Revolution can take place without violence, but this will not
be so if we do not act now.
Our Legislative Body, the Congress of the United States, is broken. The Legislature is the
true power of the Citizens in government. The two political parties in power have a caused a rift
so deep and wide that it can no longer function properly. Almost utterly destroyed, the divide is
so secular that it is as if there are two nations within the United States. There seems to be more
talk of party affiliation, and worry about staying loyal to a party, than there is talk about whether
or not the party candidate reflects that persons' personal views. At this time in our conflict, the
citizens can no longer choose sides based on political party. This is not a Republican or
Democrat fight. This is an American fight. Citizens of all parties must band together and fight to
reassert our authority in the Institution that is supposed to protect our Freedom. I believe that
until we rise against and vote out the corrupt politicians, Freedom through Peace is impossible.
As a result of the divide in our Legislature, the President of the United States has gained
incredible amounts of power. The bickering and lack of compromise in Congress have made
them essentially turn their backs on that Executive office, leaving it to its own devices. What was
once the status quo preserving institution is evolving into Kingship. The executive orders that
have the effect of laws, used by Presidents in both major parties, are nothing short of decrees
from a Monarch. Our Congress has allowed this to happen. How much longer until a mask is
shed and it is revealed that we have elected someone into the Office of Dictator?
Citizens, the Constitution is hanging by a thread, with few protectors fighting off the
hordes that would take it and cast it into a pit of fire. Many of those who would snip that thread
are those in power who desire more than what was given to them. Brothers and Sisters, we need
to organize ourselves against the government. It is our duty. The Old America, the Institution
that protected the freedoms of its Citizens, the government that was operated by us, the Citizens,
is gone. However, through the First Amendment and the Vote, we the Citizens of the United
States can raise a proverbial Phoenix from the ashes of the old and reestablish that Institution that
protects the Freedoms of each and every individual. Those in power would have us believe that
Institution is the same, saying "America has not really changed, but what has changed and limits
our Freedom is good and necessary for our security." Do not be fooled by those who cling to the
power they know they should not have. We know it has changed, and we know the wrong when

we see it. They would also have us think that America' is the Constitution. Do not forget that
America is a name. It is the Institutions, the ideas of Freedom, Liberty, and the Constitution that
are Sacred.
Those in power would have us believe that we the people are but a few. We know we are
not. It is time to unite, and show them our strength. I do not talk of secession. I talk of
reclaiming the Government that we have lost to history. Those in power will not be happy with
their former Subjects realizing what has happened. We are awake! Those corrupted will push
back immediately, but not with violence at first. The Citizen supporters of this nefarious regime
may be quick to do violence on behalf, but right now it is relatively safe to dissent. Violence
conducted by them will only further our cause.
To all Citizens; Immigrants, Descendants of the Founders, People of all Races, Veterans,
Patriots, Educators, to anyone who believes in the cause of Freedom and what the Constitution
and Declaration of Independence truly stand for, I say "Join us." We can change the Government
to stand for what you deem best. Right now our country is headed down a dark path, and we
have left our guiding light smoldering on the wayside behind us. We allowed this to happen. We
can undo what has been done. We must bring fresh fuel and breathe life into that old democracy
before it is snuffed out from the world. Act now. Wage war with words and the ballot before it is
too late for Peace. Join us.
