C OURSE D ESCRIPTION
This course will focus on the basics of computers, software and applications relevant to the
nursing practice.
This course will furthermore deal with the use of information and technology systems and
data standards. It explains the importance of nursing informatics to nursing practice.
C OURSE G OALS
At the end of the course, the students will be able to:
Explain the nature and history of nursing informatics and its influence in todays practice.
Appreciate the roles, functions, scope and limitations of practice in nursing informatics.
Understand the relationship of the roles, functions, scope and limitations of practice with other
disciplines.
Learn on how to integrate theory and related nursing experiences in a meaningful learning
environment.
