documented. Studies.
Men initiate salary negotiations four times
as often as women.
Women effectively believe they are 20%
less valuable than men believe they are.
When in the minority, women spoke 75%
less than men did.
When simply asked to name our gender,
women automatically perform worse.

you approach the world.
Self-confidence is a sense that you can
master something.
Mastery begets confidence.

anxious and vice versa.
Confidence is encoded in our genes..at
least in part. 25% to 50%
Confidence has a meta-cognitive
component.
Confidence can also be a choice.
Life choices do matter, as much as, if not
more than what we are born with.
No evidence that men have any master
confidence gene.

Have Less Confidence
What are women doing to themselves or
what are others doing to them by others
that might account for the confidence gap?
Professional success demands political
savvy, a certain amount of scheming and
jockeying, a flair for self promotion and
not letting a no stop you.
The U.S. is first in terms of educational
attainment but sixty-seventh in terms of
gender pay equity.
Women tend to use both hemispheres of
our brain more regularly than men do.

Confidence that is dependent on other
peoples praise is less valuable than
confidence built from our own
achievements.
We can all make a decision at any point in
our lives to create more confidence.
We need to lean inact, instead of holding
back.
We have to be ready to work in ways that
will often challenge our most basic
instincts.

Failing Fast and Other ConfidenceBoosting Habits


Fail Fast is a hot business strategy.
The ability to make decisions big and
small in a timely fashion, and take
responsibility for them, is a critical
expression of confidence and also
leadership.
Do it, learn and move on.
We need to make our thoughts or ally.
The WE affect can be powerful in
developing confidence.

Now Pass It On
In America, we see struggle as an
indicator that you are not very smart.
Teaching a child to embrace struggle is a
crucial step along the path toward
instilling confidence.
Confidence wont look the same in every
child.
Sports mirror life as not much else
doeswork as a team, to win, to lose, and
to learn to get over failure, and to help
each other get over failure.
