Lesson Title:

Econ Presentation

Grade Level:

11th Grade

Subject:

Economics

Description of Learning Goals, Standards, Objectives

CC/GPSs:

Which of the GPSs or QCCs align with the curriculum and your specific
lesson?
SSEMA2 The student will explain the role and functions of the Federal
Reserve System.
a. Describe the organization of the Federal Reserve System.
b. Define monetary policy.
c. Describe how the Federal Reserve uses the tools of monetary policy
to promote price stability, full employment, and economic growth

National Technology
Standards:

Which technology standard(s) are you addressing in this activity? (See

the NETs-S standards in Week 3)
Creative Communicator

Long-Term Learning
Goal or Outcome:

At the end of this unit of curriculum, what is it that you want your
students to learn?
I would like my students to learn about the federal Reserve System and
some of its basic functions. I would also like them understand monetary
policy vs. fiscal policy and really learn to differentiate between them
both.

ABCD Objectives or
Outcomes:

With your learners characteristics in mind, take the standards written

above and rewrite them using the Audience Behavior Condition Degree
method. Note: You will need to break down the GPSs into several
objectives.
The student will reproduce a Prezi presentation fully explaining the
Federal Reserve System within two days of receiving the assignment.
The student shall be able to write a summary on monetary policy based
on the dictionarys definition within 10 minutes.
The student will create a concept map in writing given the information
provided in class by the end of the week.

Description of Assessment
Assessment Plan:

What evidence do you have of students understanding? How will know

that they have met the objectives above? You must have an
assessment statement for each objective. Write your assessment
statements in this box.
In the Prezi presentation, I will be able to determine if the student really
grasped the material by closely grading the presentation. I want to see
concrete information describing the system in detail.
The summary on monetary policy is simple; I want them to summarize
the definition in their own words so I can be sure they understand the

definition.
The concept map will be graded on accuracy of the information.

Description of Activities with Technology and Materials

Activity Design:
Plan to create curricula that includes diverse and
multiple perspectives.
Class starter and lesson connection:
How will you get the students attention and
motivate them?
I will motivate my students by explaining to them
how the concepts I want them to learn are basic
concepts that the majority should know, but many
dont.
Teacher and student activities:

What will you do/say or have the students do/say

in order to connect this lesson with the previous
one or build on prior knowledge?
I want my students to know how economics is
built into everyday life, and hopefully when they
see that they will be interested in it. They can
understand a lot of whats going on if they can
grasp simple concepts provided in my class.

Technology Connection:

Describe the activities in which you and the

students will engage. Be a "fly on the wall" and
describe in detail what is going on in your
classroom.
Describe the strategies you will use.
The strategies I will use are mainly to be hands
on, I want to spark their interest and keep it going
without losing it.
Do you need to provide direct instruction? If so,
describe it.
The instructions will be explained out loud, and
the paper will provide detailed instruction. If they
need more, I will gladly be there for further help.
Will you facilitate the lesson? If so, describe your
approach.

Materials and Resources:

I will facilitate by being there for my students, I

want them to remember Im there to help.
Will students work independently, with a partner
or in groups? Describe.
I think the material is simple enough to be done
independently.

What strategies, materials, etc. are you using to

teach children with exceptionalities?
Which technology will support the lesson? List
the technology, software, URLs, etc. that you
and/or the students will use. Describe the
technology integration strategies you will use.
I will be using Prezi as the technology part of my
assignment.
List any handouts, books, equipment, media, etc.
that you will use to support your lesson.

Reflection on Lesson Design

Future Actions :

Answer the following questions:

Explain how you incorporated information from
the chapter and D2L modules into this lesson
plan.
Well first off, I used one of the apps listed on one
of the articles on D2L; I really found a lot of help
in understanding various apps and selecting one
that better suited my needs.
After considering this lesson plan, what will you
do differently when you design the next lesson in
light of your new understandings?
I really want to find ways to make my lesson plan
more interesting, but its hard. I dont know if my
subject is just too boring.
Or, if you had more time/resources, etc., how
would you change the lesson and/or technology
artifact?
I dont think I would change the tech artifact.
How does your technology artifact showcase
design principles?
I think it shoes design principles by being
symmetric.
How does your technology artifact require
student use of higher order thinking skills?
In my assignment I require my students to define
Monetary policy but to make it a summary of their
own words. I think this perfectly exemplifies
higher order thinking skills.

How does the technology in your lesson align to

the content you are trying to teach in your
lesson?
The technology in my lesson enhances my
lesson, instead of trying to make a hand written
presentation; they can make one that is
interactive and filled with cool tricks.
