Kawasan
Industri
Batamindo
berkembang
sebagai
pusat
pertumbuhan dan pengembangan industri elektronik di Kota
Batam, hal ini menjadi daya tarik bagi para migran untuk
datang dan mencari pekerjaan.
Pada dasarnya pekerja
tersebut
membutuhkan
rumah
untuk
bertempat
tinggal,
kebutuhan rumah yang tinggi menyebabkan semakin tingginya
harga permukiman formal, akibatnya mereka cenderung memilih
tinggal di permukiman informal. Permukiman informal tersebut
bersifat liar, dan terlihat kumuh karena tidak tertata dan
tumbuh secara tidak terencana.
Tujuan
dari
penelitian
ini
adalah
untuk
mengkaji
karakteristik pola permukiman sekitar Kawasan Industri
Batamindo Kecamatan Sungai Beduk Kota Batam.
Untuk mengetahui pola permukiman Kecamatan Sungai Beduk pada
sekitar Kawasan Industri Batamindo, maka digunakan jenis
metode penelitian kualitatif pendekatan rasionalistik dan
dalam mencari data primer mengambil sampel secara purposive
dengan pendekatan non probability sampling serta didukung
data-data sekunder.
Tipologi
permukiman
di
lokasi
studi
sebagian
besar
didominasi oleh rumah susun dan KSB (kavling siap bangun),
penduduk yang menempati hunian tersebut tinggal antara 5-15
tahun. Daerah permukiman tumbuh cenderung pada pusat-pusat
kegiatan yang ada di lokasi studi. Permukiman tersebut
memang tumbuh karena adanya kawasan industri di lokasi
tersebut. Karakteristik pola permukiman yang ada yaitu pola
berkumpul dan menggerombol, pola berkumpul dan memanjang,
serta pola permukiman menyebar. Pola jalan grid juga turut
membentuk pola permukiman yang ada. Sedangkan dari kelas
hunian nya, permukiman di lokasi studi mayoritas terdiri
dari perumahan kelas menengah dan rendah, Persebaran
permukiman dengan tipologi seperti di atas mencerminkan
segregasi permukiman akibat perbedaan kemampuan ekonomi
individual.
Temuan studi yang dihasilkan dai penelitian ini yaitu
sebagian besar penduduk yang bermata pencaharian sebagai
buruh lebih memilih bertempat tinggal di rusun dan KSB,
sedangkan masyarakat yang bermata pencaharian di sektor
informal lebih memilih tinggal di rumah liar (RuLi).

ABSTRACT
Batamindo Industrial Area developed as a center for the
growth and development of the electronic industry in Batam
City, it is becoming an attraction for migrants to come and
find work. Basically the workers need a house to live, needs
a high house led to the increasing price of formal
settlements, as a result they tend to prefer living in
informal settlements. The informal settlements are wild, and
look shabby as well and grow in a not planned.
The purpose of
this study was to investigate the
characteristics of settlement patterns around the Batamindo
Industrial District Sungai Beduk Batam City.
To know residential patterns Sub-district Sungai Beduk at
around Batamindo Industrial Area then used a kind of a
method of research qualitative approach rasionalistik and in
pursuit of data primary take a sample in purposive with the
approach of non probability of sampling supported the data
secondary.
Typology of settlement at the site of the study largely
dominated by rowhouses and plots ready to wake up, the
population of the occupied residential living between 5-15
years. Residential areas growing tending in the centers of
existing activities in the area of study. The settlement is
indeed grown because of an industrial region in the
location. Characteristics of settlement patterns is the
pattern and the pattern menggerombol, and elongated, and
settlement patterns. The street grid pattern also form the
existing settlement patterns. While his occupancy of the
class, the settlement at the site of the study the majority
of middle-class housing and the low, the spread of
settlements with the typology as above reflect the
segregation of neighborhoods of individual differences in
the ability of the economy
The findings of the study that produced the research of dai
most residents make ends meet as labour edged prefer live in
pig sty alley and plots ready to wake up, whereas the
informal sector livelihoods edged prefer staying at home to
wild.
