MORNING DEVOTION REFLECTION
15 December 2014 Monday
Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. Through him we
have also obtained access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in hope of the glory of God. Not only
that, but we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and
character produces hope, and hope does not put us to shame, because Gods love has been poured into our hearts through
the Holy Spirit who has been given to us
- Romans 5: 1-5
Warm and blessed Gods morning to each and one of us! This is the third week of the season of advent,
a season full of love, joy, peace and the greater hope for the coming again of our beloved Messiah. This is also a
season of family reunion, a season of greater friendship, a season of remembering, reconciling and cherishing
life memories, and a season of defining our hopes for the coming years.
Do you have hope(s) in life? Do you? Absolutely yes! All of us have desires in life. No wonder why all of
us offered the best of ourselves and exerted all our efforts, our energies and even our lives just for that hope, a
hope that matters most to us. But, how can we realize such hope despite the reality that sometimes our hopes
put us into shame? Our Scripture reading today reminded us that we have been justified by our faith. The faith
that gives us access to the grace and hope of the glory of God through our Lord Jesus Christ. That by our faith
in Him, we may stand united and rejoice with Him in His triumph and glory. Thus, let faith directs us into the
fulfillment of our hopes. Expect sacrifices along the way, but let not faith fades away easily. Sacrifices give us
strength and endurance in giving our finest effort in overcoming the obstacles that hinder us. Because of this
great willpower and endurance, it gives us that character, a character of what a true Christian can do. A
Christian that can surpass all life challenges. A Christian with a right if not the best attitude towards the
problem. Therefore, can still hope puts us into shame? A big NO ANSWER because we strongly believe and
trust in Gods faithfulness and that His love has been poured into our hearts through the inspiration of His
Holy Spirit. The challenge rests in us. This is a measure of our faith. Now, hope is not anymore the most
important and significant part in our lives, but the paths that we embark on towards the realization of our
hopes, because it is the part where we can truly define our spirituality.
Now, allow me to define our institutional hope. Our dear students are our hopes. The destiny of this
humble institution rests in them. How can these students bring the institution to triumph and not to shame?
But no doubt that we have proved our capabilities in developing their total personality and in bringing them in
their best. What is important is that we gave paramount emphasis on how we nurtured and took care of their
welfare rather than giving them nightmares. If the destiny of the institution rests in the students, the destiny of
our students rests in us. So the challenge rests in us as an institution. Thus, as our vision states, let us commit
ourselves toward the development of our students, nurturing them by faith and by the liberating process of
excellent learning toward holistic and creative action for social renewal because this is the CM spirituality.
Now as we conclude this memorable year, let the lessons be learned and let our achievements continue
to flow like a streaming water in the river, and may the God Almighty continue to bless this beloved

institution, increase its life resources, inspire its ministry and protect us from all form of anxieties and danger.
Thank you and once again warm and blessed Gods morning!
