DEFINITIONS
Nominal ball diameter, Dw
Class tolerance ST
Ball grade G
A specific combination of dimensional
tolerances, shape tolerances, surface
roughness and sorting tolerances. Each
grade is identified by number that is
preceded by the letter G.
Class interval IG
Lot/Batch
A definite quantity of balls that have been
manufactured under identical conditions
and which all exhibit practically the same
properties.
Surface roughness Ra
Characteristic value giving the surface
roughness.
Class S
Difference between the mean ball diameter
of a batch (for VDwL) or part of a batch (for
VDwA) and the nominal ball diameter Dw,
rounded to an exact multiple of the class
interval IG.

If you want to calculate the exact weight in kg per 1.000 balls then please be so kind to use the following conversion
formula:
SURFACE ROUGNESS
Balls up to diameter 1,200 mm and in Material TC can be supplied in different roughness
S1 0,000m - 0,010m
S2 0,011m - 0,020m
S3 0,021m - 0,030m
S5 > 0,030m
PLASTIC BALLS
Plastic balls are produced using standard and special polymer
resins with diameters from 1.50 to 150 mm. and they can be
used instead of stainless steel or steel balls in various industrial
applications at lower cost than metal balls.
Plastic balls offer above all the advantage of being very light,
since their specific weight is very low. They are also highly
resistant to heat and they provide smooth and silent running,
totally noise and friction free. Unlike conventional metal balls
they do not require lubrication.
NYLON (PA)
Insoluble in common solvents, alcalis, diluted mineral acids and organic
acid substances. It is, above all, resistant to alcalis, oils and petroleum
greases at temperatures up to 150 C, inorganic saline solutions, aromatic
hydrocarbons, low strength alcohols, gasoline. It has high strength, rigidity
and hardness characteristics.
On request, we can supply further materials of plastic balls and glass fibres filled balls.

CERAMIC BALLS
Ceramic balls are widely used in strong conditons. Ceramic have a lower density than steel, a low coefficient of termal
expansion and a very high hardness. They have a long life in very high velocitiy applications. The most important
materials are Silicion Nitrid, Alumina Oxide and Zirconium Oxide.
