CHALLENGES

There are many challenges in developing smart school such as the principal,teachers,students
and school. For principal,it is not easy to conduct and organize the school. Excellent and
success of a school is heavily depend on the effectiveness of principal. The foundation of a
smart school is a computing system so a principal have to provide technology infrastructure
such as laboratory, smart whiteboard and media mass material.

Furthermore, to develop a good smart school, it require a good and skilled teachers. Teachers
also must complete himself or herself with ICT knowledges and skills.The teachers must be
able to think creatively and critically because they have to deliver and teach knowledge to
students. Besides, the teachers are not ready to change their mindset. Some of the old teachers
are afraid to use or deal with the ICT as they are lack of exposure in how to use the
technology.

Next,lack of budget to maintain the computers equipment. If we use technology as a base for
study,the maintenance fees for the facilities are high. The effective implementation of Smart
Schools will require funding for the building of new schools with its entire multimedia
infrastructure, upgrading facilities in existing schools, teacher training institutions and
maintenance of new technology.
In school, they may encounter server problem and inconsistent internet service
available.When there is too many user using the internet in one time, the connection may be
slow and causes their learning sessions interrupted.

Moreover, learning using computer are time consuming. It takes time for them to open and
set up the things. Teachers also have to prepare earlier if they want to use the computer lab
for teaching and it will disturb the process of teaching and learning.

and distributed to students later

only. Its produce students with a critical thinking and more skilful people.

Such an effort is designed to produce Malaysian citizens who are knowledgeable and
competent, who possess high moral standards, and who are responsible and capable of
achieving high level of personal well-being as well as being able to contribute to the
harmony and betterment of the family, the society and the nation at large.
Increase participation of stake holders.
By establishing smart school, there are lots of job opportunities that can be applied.
Produce a thinking and technology-literate workforce.
An integrated set of strategies will be employed to achieve this goals are teach
thinking across the curriculum andapply technology in teaching and learning.

INTRODUCTION
Smart School is a Malaysian education system which learning institution being reconstruct
systematically without compromise to the quality of information transfer in order to create an
innovative and creative citizens.Basically in Information Age everything will evolve over
time so people have to try to catch up and adapt to the new changing environment. The Smart
School concept is a long term plan for the national educational system to produce highly
skilled and knowledgeable people capable in terms of ICT and as a paradigm shift in the
educational system.
Smart school exist as one out of seven flagship of the Multimedia Super Corridor (MSC)
developed in 1996 to achieve nations vision 2020.One of the initiative of this organisation
are launching a Smart School Adopt Programme that gives a big benefits to the instituition.
Curriculum, which is important to balance the development of people in academics and social
life, pedagogy , assesement and teaching-learning materials are included in this system.
Smart school is not just about learning ICT, its also prepare person in terms of how to
confront people, thinks creatively and integrate knowledge, skills, values, and correct use of
language. It is will lead students to take greater responsiblility for managing and directing
their own life.

CONCLUSION

Smart school are one of the best initiative that people should grab to produce a
creative thinker, brave and an advance person. As a conclusion, we would like the
government to lend a hand in expanding the numbers of smart school as to create
more educated and skilful younger generations. And generates students that are both
enhanced in education and soft skills. We hope that compliment the demands of smart
students in this 21st century hence creates a more stress resistant students.
