TSW keep track of multiple plots in Earthquake Terror by co-creating parallel timelines
in their composition notebooks

Objective
TSW experiment to determine how many drops of glycerin make the best soap solution
Materials
Instructio
n
Evaporation Discussion - revisit the pie pan with the water to see how much
evaporated, and explain evaporation to students (lip balm/chapped lips - moisture
evaporates)
Introduce Glycerin and how it helps the bubbles; Students will go back into
partner groups and begin testing solutions with varying amounts of glycerin (same
standard procedure as before but the variable this time is the drops of glycerin,
not the kind of soap). Students will record their data on the sheet.
Evaluatio
n
students will measure the diameter of their bubbles with different amounts of glycerin
and record their measurements on the data sheet; students will save the sheet until they
calculate averages, and then the sheet will be collected
ELA Block

TSW use their evidence collection boxes and the turn and talk stem consider what the
Turning Point of Earthquake Terror is; When the book said ___, I thought this was an
important piece of evidence because ___. This makes me think ___.
