This is a way to combat what we have been

reading about this whole time. This is a real
way for students to connect historical ideas
to their day to day lives. Its a real-life
application of what we have learned thus far.

This is a way to add more senses into your

lessons. As well as differentiating the lesson,
you are using different material to gleam
new things to add richness to your lecture. I
also believe it adds to the culture of whoever
you are studying to see or hear some of their
art. This too adds connections because art
may connect to a student to a culture or time
period in a way that facts and stories never
could.

This type of assignment is a short way of

having a student change gears from
previous learning. I also want to state
another point. This is also a way to allow
students to get outside points within the

wide range of intelligences and prepare

students to tackle new concepts.

class that differs from homework or test.

It not only allows them to think critically
and analyze without outside influences
but also give some students a helpful
grade boost.

Connection: My first point about comparing personal experiences to what is about to be discussed
within a class connects to what I have been talking about in all my BPs. In why students hate social
studies they discussed that these students dont believe that social studies will help or relate to their
everyday lives once they graduate. This is an effective and easy (almost any teacher could do this) to
maybe change some students opinions on this. It a small difference that could impact greatly on your
students want to learn and how they process the information that they are given.
