Host Intro: It may seem unbelievable but Apple Inc. has record its first annual decline in fifteen
years. Apple has grown over the past decade to become the most valuable company in the world.
Apples gain to popularity has been mainly off the success of their IPhone series. The
smartphone accounted for 63-PERCENT of Apples revenue in the past fiscal year, but the
decline has been a result of changes in consumer spending habits. The company known for its
continuous innovation in technology may gone too far with the recent IPhone 7 release. The
decision to remove the headphone jack, for the use of wireless headphones along with no
substantial upgrades, was not well received by the majority of consumers. Terrance Edwards, a
longtime Apple user, wasnt pleased with the recent release.
Cue in: Its basically the IPhone 6. Theres barely any differences It doesnt have a
headphone jack, so thats stupid.
Cue out: I think its a waste of money and Im fine with my IPhone 6, honestly.
On the other hand, Philip Salimbene, a marketing professor at Kean University, is a fan of the
new release but other factors prevents him from purchasing it.
Cue in: I like the IPhone 7, I typically buy a generation just before that.
Cue out: Cost is an issue to me and Im happy with the features in my world for an IPhone 6.
Outro: Apple is running out of untapped markets to seek revenue growth but they intend to
continue innovating new products. They just might be saving their next big innovation for the
IPhone for the 10th anniversary next year.
