Re-Amping using S/PDIF

and Analog through

separate Audio Interface

How does it work?

You record a digital version
of the dry guitar signal in
one track and an analog
version of the wet (effected
guitar) in another in the
first take
Then you send the dry
recording back through the
AxeFXII for the second take
creating a new wet track
(different amp, effects,
etc.)

Why do it this way?

You can maintain a static
configuration for your DAW
(i.e., easier for monitoring,
recording other devices, etc.)
Digital provides a high SNR
which is important with the
low audio levels of dry guitar
signals
Easier to maintain unity gain
through audio interface and
DAW

You can keep your

monitors connected
to your audio
interface when
recording
