Every end of the school year is a commencement exercise which provides a picture
of fulfillment and success, accomplishment and triumph, and perseverance and hard work of
the young learners. Correspondingly, this is a moment for parents and teachers to celebrate
the victory of their children for completing another ladder of education.
This year, the implementation of the K to 12 Program of the Basic Education
Curriculum envisions every learner to be skilled, innovative and confidently determined to
face the challenges in life. Not everyone maybe happy about what the new curriculum brings,
but one thing for sure, the program leads you to best opportunities that help you shape your
destinies.
I congratulate you learners for braving the challenges of the Basic Education
Program. I can see in your faces the hope of a better future as you are already armed with
skills, creativity and knowledge, all made possible through your teachers, school heads and
stakeholders whose partnership provided you opportunities in all levels to sharpen your mind
and to make you learn in an enabling and supportive environment. The theme, K to 12 Basic
Education Program as a transformative vehicle for local and national development speaks
about how you are trained, nurtured and developed where your talents and competencies have
been harnessed to make you one great asset of the country.
As you continue to walk on the road that leads to your dreams, face every challenge
that comes along and learn from your experiences. Be determined to reach that direction and
continue to persevere. Have faith and believe in yourself that you can.
Congratulations and I look forward for your continued success.

I wish to extend my warmest congratulations to the members of the graduating

class Batch 2016. This is a great year for you and your parents, because the diploma
that you will receive from your Alma Mater is a proof of success resulting from
strong determination and diligence in your studies. However, I would like to tell you
young graduates that this is just an initial success, for there are levels of formal
education that you must hurdle. Again you must persevere, for you and I agree that
achieving formal education these days is quiet hard.
Your success today is not yours alone. This is a success of all stakeholders of
education. And for this, the Department of Education is thanking your parents, the
City Government of Iligan, the barangay officials, the PTA, the business community,
and all education loving people in Iligan City for sharing their time and resources to
capture the best education possible for the school children of Iligan City. When you
march to receive your diploma on that big day remember that is your finest hour.
Congratulations my young friends! My prayers are with you always.

page of your school life. The first time you came to your school you were fragile, innocent,
dependent but very eager to have gone through many experiences which undoubtedly
contributed much to your growing. Those years of laughter and frown, sacrifices and
courageous struggles and humiliating failures, have afforded you great opportunities to grow
and mature.
I commend your parents for their love and concern to you, for sending you in school
and for their nurturing support in your holistic formation. I am proud to your teachers who
took pains and shared their precious moments for molding, guiding and giving you best
education and developing you to be responsible citizens of the community.
We are all proud of you and confident as you leave the portals of your ALMA

MESSAGE
Congratulations graduates! For the last time you have shared with us your
triumph. It is one of the best experiences in life sharing our happiness to others
especially to those who have been part of our lives. See how happy everyone is
your aunties and uncles, cousins, friends and neighbors, the teachers and
especially your parents. They are all happy for you! For what you have
accomplished. They are proud of what you have achieved. Remember this
moment the feeling of being successful. No one can take it from you.

Todays graduation ceremony is your ticket for a new journey to be able

to experience high school. I tell you my dear graduates, high school will be the
most exciting, thrilling and amazingly memorable part in your life. So please, do
not miss it. I know it wont be easy the nearest secondary institution from your
houses is 4 kilometers away! Provisionally, the absence of PUJs in our community
makes high school synonymous to hiking. Also, it wont be easy when the new K
to 12 Curriculum added two more years in the secondary education. Thats about
400 school days more before you can get your diplomas. But it wont matter.
When you will give same amount of effort and diligence like what all of you had
showed for the past six years, you will surely get through. Do not be vexed by
that additional years, it is not a hindrance. It might be considered a challenge but
honestly, it is intended to complete you. That extra two high school years are
meant to provide, not only you but all Filipino children, more knowledge and skills
that will help you become the persons you are all destined to be our nations
hope for a developed and progressive country.
As you walk away from the halls of our beloved Tabunan Elementary
School, please do not forget the knowledge and values you have gained from your
teachers. Let your learnings and experiences in your Alma Mater guide you as you
turn a new chapter of your life. When in distant future your learnings and
experiences are unreliable in some decision-making circumstances, just always
remember this - it is never wrong to do the right thing. And when difficulties
strike hard and everything seems to fall apart, just remember this moment. Recall
todays graduation ceremony and reminisce the cheers and smiles of everyone
taking pride of what you achieved. Remember the feeling - how it feels to be
successful. It would be a thousand times of that when you will graduate high
school.
Again, congratulations and kudos batch 2016! Ad astra per aspera!

This is my now and I am breathing in the moment

As I look around I can't believe the love I see
My fear's behind me, gone are the shadows and doubt
That was then, this is my now
I had to decide, was I gonna to play it safe?
Or look somewhere deep inside, try to turn the tide
And find the strength to take that step of faith?
This is my now and I am breathing in the moment
As I look around I can't believe the love I see
My fear's behind me, gone are the shadows and doubt
That was then, this is my now
But I have a courage like never before, yeah
I've settled for less, but I'm ready for more
Ready for more!
This is my now and I am breathing in the moment
As I look around I can't believe the love I see
My fear's behind me, gone are the shadows and doubt
That was then, this is my now!
I'm living in the moment
As I look around I can't believe the love I see
My fear's behind me, gone are the shadows and doubt
That was then, this is my now, this is my now

lucid as each day goes by. This will eventually lead to the endeavor that we need to
apply everything we have learned and culminate it into something exceptionally
productive.
The theme for this year, Kabataang Mula sa K to 12: Tagapagdala ng
kaunlaran sa bansang Pilipinas, is important and relevant not just for welfare of
todays generation, but for the futures sake as well. It is undeniable that the youth of
today will assume the problems that we have brought upon ourselves. The ball is in
your hands to do what is necessary for humanity to sustain itself and that billions will
be secured of their basic needs. This is why education is the most vital tool that the
rising generation can use to lessen poverty and rehabilitate our ecosystem.
Dietrich Bonhoeffer once said, The ultimate test of a moral society is the
kind of world that it leaves to its children. It is consequential to live by this remark,
as the education you have acquired and will acquire will help reinvogate, improve and
advance this complex world of ours. We can all achieve sustainable development by
fusing the technical skills we learned from school and the moral values that we
comprehended in life.
Once again, Congratulations. Enjoy the fruits of your labor and persistently
study hard to gain prosperity in the coming times.
