Fauni Ambarsari Gugus Suhardi-Tjahjono 31 Teknik Fisika 2016 Identity in being Global Citizenship of Globalization
Globalization is a process of global society. Globalization in taking control
of the world nowadays, also affects the Indonesian. We as a part of global citizen can no longer deny or stop this global process. But the Indonesian has opened itself to always make a good link with the world community. Therefore in the era of globalization today, we have to strengthen the sense of nationalism and proud for being the Indonesian which is based on Pancasila, and take a part proffesionally in globalization. When this is realized, we can be a global citizenship whom locally rooted and globally respected. Pancasila is the identity of the Indonesian to determine the way of thinking, being, and doing, in the era of globalization. In relation to globalization, there is a trust that said think globally and act. The indonesian should think globally and insightful, but never forget the identity, Pancasila, and the cultural norms that existed. But we also dont need to leave the local problems because it seems common. For the concern of global, we should start from a local problem. As stated by Steiner (1996), the global teacher, we should have a global perspective from a local act so we can handle the more local problems. In the global life, the first thing that have to realize is the Indonesian is a global citizen, as the world community who has the certain rights and obligations. Right is a cornerstone of citizenship (Stainer, 1996: 20) is the core in the life of the world. While obligation is a responsibility or our duty as global citizenship. Louis Douglas in Global Citizenship (2332) looked at the global citizen as a person or a community whose realize the world extensively and has their own feelings as a global citizen, recognition of the values of diversity, reject social injustice, participate and contribute in the community from the local to global, has the will to act and make the world as a worth place, responsible for their actions, and have an understanding of how the world works economically, politically, social, culture, technological, and enviromental. The Indonesian is a part of the modern civilized world in the spirit of friendship and cooperation for the sake of freedom, lasting peace, and social justice. We evolved from previous generation to the modern generation, as well as the world evolves in the dynamics of globalization. Therefore we should keep our identity, Pancasila, as the root of attitude for participating in globalization, so that we can become a respected global society.
