Below are the assessment results from the Google Form given that asked questions targeting at
measuring the level of understand of the objectives identified for the lesson. The assessment was make
up of multiple choice and long answer questions. The long answer questions were graded on a scale of
0-3. 0 being that the student did not answer or the answer did not meet criteria, 1 being that the
students did not demonstrate knowledge of the topic, 2 being that the students somewhat
demonstrated adequate knowledge of the topic, and 3 being that the students demonstrating complete

The assessment results show that the student have gained in their understanding since the
results shown on the Kahoot quiz, but they still have weaknesses in the area of plagiarism in MLA
citations. From the results it seems that they really struggle with MLA in-text and works cited citations.
Only 25% of the responses on these two questions were correct. They did well on the questions that
asked them to identify information from a given MLA citation. This shows that they have a better
understand of this process, which makes sense because most of the video on MLA was dedicated to full
citations, not in-text citations.
Reflection
This experience was difficult for me because this area of digital citizenship is not my expertise.
When I discussed this idea with Mrs. Pass she was excited about the opportunity for her students to get
more time working with copyright and citations. I had to ask her a lot of questions about MLA
particularly because it is something that I am not familiar with anymore. Most college courses I have
taken require APA formatting. I also ran into some trouble when administering the lesson because the
class I was dealing with did not have much experience using technology for learning purposes. I had to
guide the class through both Padlet and Listly. I expected to have to help some students through this
process, but not to the level that this required. They were very unfamiliar with it and were not very good

at using iPads in general. During the Padlet activity the students did a good job of coming up with
examples of good and bad copyright procedures. The problems I had with this part of the lesson was
using Padlet itself. Some students claimed they entered their responses, but once I went back to look at
the Padlet, I saw that their responses were not recorded.
I would change several things about my lesson. I administered it on Friday afternoon because
that was a time when it worked best with Mrs. Pass. If I had a choice I would rather not give the lesson
at this time because students are worn down by this time of the day and will not give their full effort on
the assignment. This was evident in the long answer section of the assessment. I would also make sure
to have used Padlet and Listly before administering the lesson again. A lot of time was spent showing
students how to use the programs instead of actually using the programs for learning. I did include
tutorials on using the programs in the module, but some of the students said they could not learn by
using these. I would attribute this to their lack of use of technology in lessons in the past. I did think the
content was good and the students seemed to interact with it well. They liked the videos and learned
from the slideshow that was presented. Overall I think the lesson was effective, and with some tweaks I
think this would be more reflected in the assessment results.
