Dear Ms. Samantha Yhun,
I am submitting my resume with great excitement for the student placement
position at Vaughn Community Health Centre that I discovered on the Guelph-Humber
career portal.
I am currently enrolled in my forth year at Guelph-Humber in the Bachelor of
Applied Science in Kinesiology and Diploma in Fitness and Health Promotion Program. I
was pleased to find out that it was time to get involved with my second round of the field
placement aspect of Guelph-Humbers specialized Kinesiology program. I am required to
complete a total of 154 hours of field placement in the fall semester. This equates to 14
hours per week for 11 weeks, and I have Mondays and Tuesdays available to do so.
Throughout my undergraduate career at Guelph-Humber I have been exposed to
many aspects of the field of Kinesiology. Some of which include a knowledge base in
Human Anatomy, Human and Exercise Physiology, Injuries and Contraindications,
Fitness Assessment and Behavior Change. I have learned so many interesting concepts
that lead to my fascination in this field. I have taken practical based courses such as
Exercise Prescription and Group Strength and Athletic Training that have given me
clinical based opportunity to bring to the table. These courses have provided me with
skills needed for training special populations, teaching proper exercise technique and
corrective measures. Outside of my knowledge based from Guelph- Humbers
Kinesiology program I also have obtained many years of customer service experience
from many part time employment opportunities.
This past semester I had a great field placement opportunity in the field of
Geriatrics. I learned great skills that I feel confident in implementing at your facility.
Some of these skills include teaching groups strength classes, fitness assessments and
walking programs.
I hope to be in touch soon about this great opportunity.
