Batching Plant | Department Batching Plant of Casablanca

Batching concrete is a process whereby cement is mixed with coarse aggregate (graded
crush) and fine aggregate (sand particularly pit sand) as well as with water. Concrete batching
plants are devices used to mix the various ingredients to form concrete. The commonly used
batching plant in markets are ready mix batching plants and central mix batching plants and
some of them use computer aided control to assist their functioning as like in Casablanca plant.
Casablanca plant has mixer capacity 3m3.
There are two main types of concrete plants: Dry mix plants and Wet mix plants.Dry
mix plants is A Dry mix Concrete Plants, also known as Transit Mix Plants, weighs sand, m.
sand, split, screening cement in weigh batchers via digital or manual scales . All the ingredients
then are discharged into a chute which discharges into a truck. Meanwhile, water is either being
weighed or volumetrically metered and discharged through the same charging chute into the
mixer truck. A Wet mix Concrete Plants, combines some or all of the above ingredients
(including water) at a central location into a Concrete Mixer.

Bin Material
Bin, serves as a collection point / material (aggregate coarse and fine aggregates) from
a build up of material in the stock pile with the help of wheel loader to pull up. Bin
material, used for dividing the aggregate fractions. Bin material is divided into 4 (four)
fractions, namely: aggregate coarse grains (split), medium grain (screening), fine grain
(of sand), and m.sand

Aggregate feed gates

The aggregate feed gates are used to discharge material from the aggregate storage
bins into the aggregate batcher. The gates are equipped with air cylinders that are
operated by pneumatic valves. The valves that operate these gates are single acting
valves which require a momentary button in the batch control. When the valve receives
a signal from the batch control the gate will open, when the signal is removed the gate
will close.

Admixture Dispenser
Admixture is stored in a tank and then routed into the dispenser and then poured

into the mixer using a pump.

Concrete Mixer
Concrete mixer is to mix the entire material (coarse aggregate, fine aggregate,
cement, water, fly ash). After all the material mixed in a concrete mixer concrete then
ready to be distributed to the site using a truck mixer.

Concrete Mr. Abil

Concrete is a mixture of fine aggregate (sand), coarse aggregate (gravel), or any kind
of other aggregates and water, with portland cement or hydraulic cement others, and with
additional materials (additives) that are chemically ataupunfisikal at a certain ratio, until it
becomes a unity homogeneous. The mixture will harden like rocks. Hardening occurs
because the event a chemical reaction between the cement with water.
1. Portland Cement

Concrete is a mixture of chemical compounds which are hydraulic means if

mixed with a certain amount of water will bind the other ingredients into a single
mass to solidify and harden. In general, the cement can be defined as an adhesive to
glue the parts solids to form a strong compact and keras.used as a component in the
production of mortar in masonry, and of concrete, the which is a combination of
cement and an aggregate to form a strong building material
Type of cement:

Type I (Ordinary Portland Cement)

Type II (Moderate Heat Portland Cement)

Type III (High Early Strength Portland Cement)

Type IV (Low Heat Portland Cement)

Type V (Shulphato Resistance Portland Cement).

2. Fine Aggregate
Fine aggregate for concrete can be either natural sand as a result of the natural
disintegration of rocks or a form of artificial sand produced by means of rock breaker.
Fine aggregate has the largest grain size 5.0 mm. Fine aggregate function as filler
between the coarse aggregate, so that the bond becomes stronger.
Fine aggregate consisting of :

Black sand
White sand
M.Sand

3. Coarse Aggregate
Coarse aggregate is gravel as a result of the natural disintegration of the aid or
the form of crushed stone obtained from stone-crushing industry and has a grain size

of 5-40 mm ntara. Coarse aggregate is aggregate with a grain size of grains is greater
than the sieve sieve # 88 (2.36 mm).
Coarse aggregate consists of :

Split
Screening

4. Water
In the manufacture of concrete, water is an important factor, because water
reacts with the cement paste will be binding on aggregate. Water influence the
compressive strength of concrete, because excess water will cause a decrease in the
strength of the concrete itself.
Besides the excess water will lead to concrete experiencing bleeding, namely
water together cement will move over the surface of fresh concrete was freshly
poured. This will lead to a lack of concrete coherence between the surface layer (due
to bleeding) with a layer of concrete beneath. The water in the concrete mix will
affect the properties of the concrete workability.
5. Admixture
The ingredients were added to the concrete mix at the time or during the
mixing takes place, like polymer, fiber, minerals that can cause the concrete has
different properties than the original. Intended use of the admixture is to improve and
add concrete properties as desired.
Type of admixture :

Mineral : Fly Ash , Silica Foam

Chemical : Retarder , Super Plastizer , HRWR
