Introduction

This School Based Assessment (SBA) is to discover two festivals


celebrated in Hinduism, the history of the festivals and to
examine the significance in the Hindu religion.

Acknowledgement

It gives me great gratitude to extend a warm THANK YOU!!! To


the individuals who have assisted me in this School Based
Assessment . Firstly, Almighty God who have given me the kind
words of motivation, inspiring me to do better. And my
Religious Education Teacher Miss Lovelace for teaching me the
necessary things I need to accomplish this SBA.

Hinduism
Two festivals celebrated in Hinduism, their history and the significance
to the Hindu people.

Statement of Aim
It is the researchers intention to:

To discover two festivals celebrated in the Hinduism religion


To find out the history of Diwali and Holi in the Hinduism religion.
To highlight the significance of Diwali and Holi in the Hinduism
religion.

Data Collection
To collect the data on the Significance of Holi and Diwali in Hinduism a
questionnaire will be used.

A total of 15 questionaire will be prepared. Each will have 15 questions on


both Hindu festivals. Then questionnaires will be given to persons above
the age of 18 years.

These persons will be briefed on the purpose of the questionnaire and


they will be guaranteed strict privacy as it relates to the information. In
other words they will return anonymous.

The sample of persons will be selected from among high school graduates.

Summary of Findings
The method used for the collection of data was a questionnaire.

A total of 15 samples were handed out to young students {university} of that number only
15 persons returned completed samples of the questionnaire. Hence, the 15 sample were
interpreted and analysed.
