with the video.
Body of the lesson (27)
Activity n2: (Between 8 to 10 minutes due to the length of the video)
Macroskills: Listening.
Materials: Projector, computer, video.
Type of interaction: Students- teachers and vice versa.
Students will watch the video Four little corners twice, after the first
play trainee will ask different questions so as to see if pupils have understood
the video.
After the second play students will be given a photocopy for them to
answer some questions.
Read and answer:
1.

How many circles are there?

2.

What is the problem with their friend little square?

3.

What do little circles want to do?

4.

How does little square feel?

5.

Finally, what solution do they find?

Activity n 3: (5)
Students will be given a photocopy with images from the video representing
the story. Students will have to put those images in order.

Activity n 4: (6)
Materials: Photocopies, pictures of squares and circles.
Interaction: group.
Macro skills: reading, listening.
Students will represent the short story Four little corners. Pupils will be
divided in three groups, one of the groups will be in charge (with the help of
the trainee) of reading the short story (script adapted from the video) and
the other two groups will represent the circles and the squares. If possible we
will rotate the groups so that everyone has the chance to read.
Four little corners:
Little square is playing with his friends. (Ring ring!), Its time to go into the house, but little square
cant get in, hes not round like the door.
Little square is sad, he really wants to go into the house. So he stretches, turns upside down, twists
and folds himself up. But he still cant get through the door.
You have to make yourself round! little circles say. Little square tries with all his might.
You must really concentrate! the little circles say.
Im round, Im round, Im round little square chants. But its not use!
What can we do? Little square is different. Hell never be round.
Well just have to cut your corners off! the little circles say. Oh, no said little square that would
hurt too much!
The little circles all go into the living room. They talked for a long, long time. Until they finally realize
that its not little square who has to change his shape.
Its the door!
So they cut out four little corners. So that little square can finally get into the house and join his
friends the little circles.
