It is a temporary residence for artists who want to take
a break from their routine while working on their master
peice and get into a different environment which will be
exclusively designed and equipped for them.

WHY?
Artists have their own peculiar preferences, background and
problems. The appropriate studio/performance spaces are
scarce, environment at home may not be suitable for the
creative activities, and rented spaces have limitations in terms
of time and money.The artists may come and stay here and
pursue their passion in natural environment. They will also
get a chance to interact with other artists so as to understand
various forms.Their presence can also be benecial to the
budding artists to learn and enrich their own art.The place
will also be a showcase of various art forms in form of events,
archives, workshops and residencies. This will help in spreading
awareness about art in common people. The place will work
on a semi-commercial business module.

2.a structure serving as a dwelling or home, especially
one of large proportion and superior quality.
A residence is an establishment where it was originally or
currently being used by a host as their main place of
dwelling or home. Architecturally, a residence is typically
a house, mansion, cottage or grand castles and palaces.
A residence is offered to travelers as temporary lodgings
where they can rent a room. This boutique type of
accommodation has a nice homely feel where the traveler
is the 'house-guest'. Hotels, especially the extended stay
chains, commonly function as residences for many guests.

Accommodation
Sanskriti Kendra provides three types of accommodation:
4 Studios
Living Space Mezzanine 125 sqft
Work Space 415 sq ft
4 Studios
Living Space 270 sqft
Work Space 370sq ft
All eight studios are double-storeyed apartments. A staircase
leads up from the studio to the mezzanine to a comfortable
bedroom and bathroom. All studios open into a courtyard.
These are available for individual artist residents.
4 Dormitories
Space - a 600 sq ft
b 400 sq ft
There are four ground oor general studios.
The dormitories have a boarding capacity of 4 to 5 adults.

Aims
-To create an understanding and appreciation of Indian traditional arts and culture
-To encourage intercultural artistic dialogues and collaborations
-To offer visibility to indigenous traditional arts and artisans, crafts and crafts-persons
-To perpetuate and strengthen the cultural roots of the emerging generation
-To increase the appreciation of Indian arts, heritage and crafts
Activities
Sanskriti is dedicated to promoting, preserving and presenting the
Indian traditional arts and culture through the following programme of work:
-Support and nurture young talents from the elds of arts, crafts and museum.
-Provide a retreat at Sanskriti Kendra as a space for contemplation, exploration and the
development of creative ideas in a supportive environment.
-Host residency programmes as a way of supporting and helping artists, writers, scholars
and creative individuals to strengthen their practice.
