MICROSOFT WORD EXERCISE 2_(Insert

Tab)
OBJECTIVES:

Identify the name and uses of each button under insert tab on the menu bar.
Use the different buttons under Insert Tab by following the instructions
accurately.
Give importance to each buttons and their functions

DIRECTION: Read the following instructions given on each item then do it.

1. INSERTING COVER PAGE
Click Cover Page then select any format from the dropdown options. Fill the
document fields with your information.
2. INSERTING BLANK PAGE & PAGE BREAK
Place the Insertion Point at the beginning of this line. Hover over the button
Blank Page then read its function. Click Blank Page to see what will happen.
Then click Undo to return. Hover over the button Page Break then read its
function. Click Page Break to see what will happen. Then click Undo to return.
3. INSERTING TABLE
Place the Insertion Point at the beginning of this line. Click Table then select
2x1 Table. On the first column, type ATTRIBUTES. Press Tab key on the
keyboard. Type VALUE on the second column. Press Tab key again. Type
First Name: on the first column. Press Tab Key then type your name on the
second column. Press Tab key again and again to make ten (10) rows or cells.
Type the following items on the first column chronologically: Middle Name,
Last Name, Suffix, Birth Date, Birth Place, Gender, Civil Status, Nationality,
and Religion. Type the corresponding value of each item on the second
column.
Note: examples of SUFFIX in names:

have no Suffix, type

Jr., Sr., I, II, III, IV. If you

Then you realize that you want to add your Age, Height and Weight after the
item Gender. Heres how: Place the Insertion Point outside the second column
of the table of cell / row for Gender then press Enter key on the keyboard.

Type Age: and its corresponding value. Do the same thing to enter the fields
for Height and Weight.
4. INSERTING ILLUSTRATIONS (Pictures, Online Pictures, Shapes,
SmartArt, Chart, Screenshot, Apps for Office and Online Video)
Place the Insertion Point above this line. Click Screenshot then click

Screen Clipping. Wait until a


icon appear. Locate the pointer on the
screen. Left click the mouse then hold and drag until the desired clipping has
been selected then release the mouse. You now have inserted a screenshot
clip of your desktop background.
Press simultaneously on the keyboard the following keys: Control, Alternate
and Print Screen. Place the Insertion Point above this paragraph then
press on the keyboard simultaneously the keys Control and V. A Screenshot
of your document has been inserted.
5. INSERTING HYPERLINK

Select the word Facebook above this paragraph then click Hyperlink. A new
message
window
will
appear.
On
the
Address
Field
type
www.facebook.com then click OK or press Enter key. Do the same process
for Google www.google.com, Yahoo www.yahoo.com, and YouTube www.youtube.com.
6. INSERTING COMMENT
Select this line of text then insert a Comment by clicking the Comment
button. Then type your comment or any note you want to add on the
Comment Field. Example is This is great!
7. INSERTING HEADER & FOOTER
Click Header button then select a format on the Dropdown items. Type
INSERT TAB BUTTONS on the Document Title Field and type the date today
(Ex: September 1, 2013) on the Date Field then Close Header and Footer.
Click Footer button then select a format on the Dropdown items then Close
Header and Footer.
8. INSERTING PAGE NUMBER
Click Page Number button, select Bottom of Page then scroll down to select
Brackets 2. Take note you can change the Page Numbering lay out by
choosing from the options given.
9. INSERTING TEXT BOX

Place the Insertion Point at the end of this paragraph. Press Enter key. Click
Text Box button then select Simple Text Box. Type AMAZING on the text box.
You can change the lay out of the text box by selecting the different buttons
on the ribbon.

INSERTING WORD ART
Place the Insertion Point at the end of this paragraph. Press Enter key. Click
WordArt button then select any format from the Dropdown items. Type your
text. Bring the word art below this instruction.
11.
INSERTING DROP CAP
Place the Insertion Point anywhere on the paragraph below then click Drop
Cap button. Choose Dropped.

INSERTING DATE & TIME

Place the Insertion Point above this line. Click Date & Time button then select
the second item on the list of available formats then click OK or press the
Enter key.

INSERTING SYMBOL

Place the Insertion Point opposite each item listed below. Click Symbol button
then select the appropriate symbol being asked.

INSERTING OBJECT

Place the Insertion Point above this line. Click Object button then select
Microsoft Excel Worksheet. Click OK or press Enter key.

INSERTING TEXT FROM FILE

Place the Insertion Point above this line. Click Object Dropdown button then
select Text from File. Select a Word Document on your computer. Click Insert
or press Enter key.
