What a journey this has been so far!
From all of our events and fundraising
opportunities, the ride has been exciting,
unpredictable, but above all, rewarding.
During the short amount of time I
have been here, dedication is what
comes to mind when I think about
the team at Autism Nova Scotia. I see
the determination and passion each
individual brings every day, in working
together for a better tomorrow for those
individuals on the spectrum.
From our Walk the Walk for Autism
event, to the upcoming Eat It All Event
Silent Auction, every day at Autism
Nova Scotia has allowed me such great
opportunities for amazing experiences.
The feeling of bringing together action
towards something bigger and greater
had been a rewarding opportunity, and
makes me feel proud in the work I have
been lucky to be a part of.
Support truly does mean success, and
I have seen here the diligence and
patience each individual has put towards
perfecting their practise. Each program
and action works towards supporting
the needs for those effected by ASD, in
a way that facilitates strengths, while
developing life skills and practise.
It truly has been an amazing experience,
and one that has provided an
understanding I hope to carry with me in
the future to come.

Walk the Walk for Autism June 13th 2015

Talk isnt always enough; thats why we walk the walk! And
walk we did! Our 6th Annual Walk the Walk: Stepping in the
Right Direction for Autism exceeded our expectations, with
a huge turnout and over $212,000 raised! Family and friends
joined us for a great time with bouncy castles, games, a
BBQ, generously prepared by the Rotary Club members,
and our dedicated walkers! We cant wait to see what next
year has in store!

World Autism Awareness Day

Fork and spoon in hand, we are ready to go! The 4th Annual
Eat it All! for Autism, presented by Scotiabank will once
again be held at the RockBottom Brew Pub. Scotiabank

12th Annual Bluenose

Marathon
May 15-17, 2015
We celebrated the 12th Annual Bluenose Marathon over the
Victoria Day Weekend, with an amazing turn out of over 14,000
walkers and runners! Thank you to over 1,400 of amazing
volunteers, showing their support and help on the streets of
Halifax and Dartmouth. A pat on the back to Team Autism Nova
Scotia and Board Member Allison Garber for showing their
support and dedication!

Remember Brad Crossely? The teacher and father
of four has returned from the 2014 Tour Divide
Ride from Alberta to New Mexico, and raised a
whopping $10,000 for Autism Nova Scotia! Huge

Michael McCrearys Cross Country

Comedy Show at Oasis
October 10, 2014
Autism Nova Scotia was proud to host Comedian Michael
McCrearys comedy tour, Does This Make My Asbergers
Look Big? at the Oasis Pub and Eatery, on for one night
only! He was joined by special guest Martha Chaves.
Diagnosed with Aspergers Syndrome, he takes you on a
comical journey through the lighter side of the condition.

Oakwood Haunted House

October 28-31, 2014
This is the second year we have received a generous
donation of $4,817 from Jill & Andy Babcock of the Oakwood
Haunted House! 2014 marks their 9th year of scaring the
pants of neighbors, family and friends. The funds raised were
kindly donated to Autism Nova Scotia, thank you Babcock
Family!
