YOUTH LEADER
Since I was a young boy, my father had always inspired me to
achieve goals set for me using one singular approach, the story of
the leaders who secured Nigeria's independence, and how young
they were when they did. A vivid example that I am yet to forget
was when I graduated from secondary school at the age of 14. My
dad had repeated in my ears that it was no feat, I was as old as
Osun State and nothing compared to General Gowon's
leadership of the country before he even got married at the age
of 31.
Today, I understand a lot more than I did then about the Nigerian
State and how it accords no signicant recognition to the young
Nigerian politically and how even a Yakubu Gowon could not
repeat that singular feat if he were born in this generation no
matter who his parents were or where he studied. Political
Leadership is not a realm where young Nigerians are welcome
they say, but that is not our own story. The average young
Nigerian of today wants to express herself/himself with all the
tools of technology and all the benets of the internet and much
more so politically. It's the reason most industries experiencing
creative disruption in today's private sector are led by this
generation of youths.
Politically, the young Nigerian is yet to nd expression and it is
not for a lack of trying. Political Parties and the patronage system
that lies within which is what extends to the national scene are so
inconducive for young Nigerians, new parties/movements have
not found their feet and young Nigerians continue to ask which
party will give the young Nigerian a voice not as a social media
overlord but as a decision maker, as a leader and as an executor.
As much as I will like to say emphatically and as loud as anyone
who cares to listen to me that the answer is KOWA PARTY, I will
leave the rest of the following pages to do justice to that. We
have an idea of the kind of Nigeria we want to build for our kids
and for the generation unborn and we want to be at the decision
table, making that Nigeria a reality and we want to do it now. In
creating OUR OWN NIGERIA, We must come under a platform,
put our ideas together and execute ruthlessly.

INTRODUCTION
Our Nigeria is a country blessed with vast natural and human
resources. With all that we have, one would expect that the
challenges currently being faced by us would be non-existent as
we would have gone on to take our place as a World Power and to
provide assistance to our fellow African nations.
Sadly, this is not the case. Our nation is suering from acute
mismanagement of resources and inept leadership. The Giant of
Africa has been brought to its knees as we regrettably bemoan
lack of basic amenities after 55 whole years of independence.
Proper healthcare is still a luxury, educational institutions are
crumbling, our roads have become death traps, our youths are
unemployed, to mention a few of the myriads of problems facing
us as a nation.

IDEOLOGY
KOWA PARTY is a party founded on strong ideals of democracy
and good governance with the party's ideology primarily being
Social Welfare and Modernism.

DEMOCRACY &
GOOD GOVERNANCE
The Party has come to the realization that political parties do not
usually eld the right people for the very crucial job of
governance. We understand that evil thrives when good people
do nothing and as Plato rightly said,

One of the penalties for refusing to

participate in politics is that you end up
being governed by your inferiors.

much needed solution to bad governance.

WAIVERS FOR ELECTIONS

Our party agrees that the youths are the leaders of
tomorrow, we also believe that tomorrow has come
and the time for participation of the age group
which accounts for not less than 60% of Nigerians to
NO FEES be actively involved in the growth and development
of the nation is now.
This is reected in our party constitution which states that any
young member interested in contesting for any position would
not pay a single kobo for nomination fees or letter of intent.

ADVOCACY
The Contesting Age for elections in the country do not currently
favor the competent, energized and passionate young Nigerian
and attempts have been made to rectify this through
constitutional amendments that the National Assembly has
refused to pass.

#NotTooYoungToRun
We are going to kickstart a movement for the amendments of
this cause by rallying together all stakeholders working on this
advocacy goal and pressure the National Assembly to rectify this
marginalization clause. We are currently supporting the
#NotTooYoungToRun Bill at the National Assembly. Policies that
aect the interests of youths are going to be top priority for the
National Youth Caucus and the plan is to partner with civil society
organizations, non governmental organizations and when
necessary multi partisan coalitions to realize and establish the
policies that benet young Nigerians.

YOUTH FOCUSED TOWN

HALL MEETINGS
There will be youth-focused town hall meetings in local
governments that would be targeted specically for the youth
members of the party led by the youth leaders of those local
governments and will address issues related explicitly to youths.
This would also ensure that there is a cohesion amongst the
young members of the party to pursue the youth agenda as it
relates to leadership, socio-economic realities and
empowerment.
