Dirhams(ones and tens).
Opening (warmer activity + teacher introduction/demonstration of small group activities)
Task 1:
1. Tell students story and linked to their life ( engage and explore)
While telling students the story I will use TPR, engage students by asking them questions, and ask
them to solve the problems. As a result, students will pay attention and motivate to learn.
2. Explain for the students the steps of adding two- digit numbers (explain).
Guided Experience (group working with the teacher)- whole class activities
Activity 1: use base-ten blocks to add two-digit numbers.
Instruction
Students will take one question card and use base-ten blocks to add.
Activity 2:discusus discuss with your partner
Instruction
Each pair will have a question card, they will discuss with each other the steps of adding two-digit
numbers and they will solve it together.
Independent Experience (small group activity 1)
Find the sum by using base-ten blocks.
Instructions:
Give each student a sum card. E.g. 34+18 and work mat 6.
Students will look at their cards, use base ten blocks add and find the sum.
Students will use work mat 6 to show the steps of adding and writing the answer.
Independent Experience(small group activity 2)
Find the sum by drawing
Instructions:
Students will takes the stick and look at the question E.g. 34+18.
Student will add and two digit numbers by representing drawing.
Students will use work mat 6 to show the steps of adding and writing the answer.

Independent Experience(small group activity 3)

Solve the math problem
Instructions:
Each students will have a math problem card and work mat 6. They will read it and use either base ten blocks or drawing to add and find the sum.
Students will use work mat 6 to show the steps of adding and writing the answer
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Independent Experience(small group activity 4)
Game board
Instructions:
Each pair will have a game board, this game board contains addition questions such as 35+25=
One student will take question card, solve the question, she can use base-ten blocks or drawing.
Then she will use work mat 6 to show the steps of adding and writing the answer.
Finally, share it with her partner, if it is right she will move one space and get one point, then her
partner will do the same steps.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Independent Experience(small group activity 5)
Color the base-ten blocks that represent answer
Instructions:
Each student will have a sum card, they will look at addends and then color the base -ten block that
represent the question. Then based on the coloring they will find the answer.
Students will use work mat 6 to show the steps of adding and writing the answer .
Closing
Do a short review by asking the students to recall the steps of adding two-digit numbers
Give students more example about adding two-digit numbers.
Assessment
While students are doing the activity I will walk around to observe their working .Also, I will ask students Oral
questions, such as, how did you get that?
Moreover, I will provide appropriate feedbacks for them and improve their learning.
Also, I will use the checklist.
Reflection:

What went well:

I integrated different learning styles such as visual when I showed them pictures. Moreover, auditory
when they heard the story, discuss with their partner and listen to the teacher, kinesthetic when they moved
their hands to do the activities. Finally, I improved their social domain when they worked as groups.
Support students learning by using different ways, such as story and hands-on activities. The story played
a role to grasp students attention and the hand on activities was valuable resources for engaging students in
constructing their richer understanding and make a connection between mathematical concept, relationships,
and representation.
Choose a leader for each group; this helps me to save the time and give the groups the reso urces quickly.
Moreover, the students love that, and they cooperate with each other.
I achieved all the objectives because students understood the lesson well, especially when I gave them the
activities they were able to add two digit numbers without facing problems. Moreover, to ensure that I
achieved the objectives, I asked each student oral questions, for example, I asked student to explain for me
how did they get the answer?.

The discussing activity was a useful technique to motivate students, develop a higher level of thinking,
encourage active learner, and improve communication, and decision making and leadership skills. Students
get opportunity to talk, discuss and learn from each other.
Even better if:
Give students time to finish their books by canceling some activities. Also, when I noticed that some students
could do the activities, I can ask them to do their book independently without assistance.
Keep the instruction simple and model for them because some students faced pro blem to do the activities.
Next step in teaching and learning:
Integrate different learning styles while teaching.
Prepared various hands-on activities for students.
Give students clear and straightforward instruction.
