Week 2 - Analysis Report 3

Introduction
ABC Business Solutions is an organization that specializes in management solutions to

improve the performance of Businesses, Organizations, and Companies. We have been chosen to

identify the problems that affect CanGo business operations, and to provide strategies and

solutions that CanGo could utilize to improve their business operations. We the members of

ABC Business Solutions will evaluate CanGo business operations to identify CanGo strengths

and weaknesses, and provide resolutions that clarify changes CanGo can implement to improve

their business operations, and solutions for long and short-term business management strategies

that increases CanGo profitability. We will start by identifying CanGo Mission, Vision, and

Value Statement. We will conduct analysis to identify CanGo strengths and weaknesses. The

analysis that we will use to help CanGo understand the health of their organization are Strategic

Management to include implementing a Strategic Plan, and SWOT analysis. In addition, we will

develop consulting reports utilizing a Gantt chart/spreadsheet to illustrate the importance of how

the priority of projects in the order they are completed effects their business operations, to

include CanGo bottom line. The goal of ABC Business Solutions is to show CanGo, how the

right strategies and how to implementing smart business solutions they can grow their business

to become profitable and sustainable for the present and future of the organization.

Week 2 - Analysis Report 4

No Mission, Vision, or Value Statement

Identify the problem:
When you think of businesses that have retained a high success and growth rate, they are

those run by founders with clarity of vision, an ability to see to the frontline and customer, and

relentlessness to constantly improve (Clark, 2012). Their goal isnt to just profit financially but

to sustain continuous innovation. CanGo has been a successful small local organization for

several years, leading in online gaming solutions. Their triumph in the industry came

haphazardly and by chance rather than through strategic actions. The founder of CanGo does not

know how she developed success or how to direct her employees to sustain business in ever-

changing times.

Problem details:
The victory of an organization begins with the vision of its founder. Having a

fundamental source gives the company an internal notion of direction, stability and a competitive

advantage that allows it to adapt faster. Straying away from the purpose of the business leads to

failure of chasing random ideas, while not even having a purpose leads to stagnation and

confusion. Employees are also not passionate or motivated and therefore not productive.

Resolution:
The solution for CanGo begins with formulating a strategic plan, which includes

establishing a purpose, setting organizational goals and developing strategies to reach them. This

begins with first developing a mission, vision and value statement. These statements provide

direction, explains where the business is headed, and details to employees the priorities and goals

of the organization.

Week 2 - Analysis Report 5

We recommend CanGo develop its purpose and goals from the Hudson Valley speech

where it is mentioned the motivation behind starting was to make shopping easier for consumers

with a central location at affordable rates. This is the mission. Recite this statement before every

meeting to ensure employees have a common understanding and work together in the best

interest of CanGos future. ABC Business Solution established a team to formulate business

strategy and strategic plan for CanGos future goals, where the company sees itself in five years,

and how to get there.

The Planning Process

Identify the problem:
In order to CanGo successful, it is imperative that there be definitive and attainable

objectives and results. CanGo had neither planning process; nor a structured organization that

identified the organization Mission, Vision nor the company Values. CanGo business operation

was operating in the red, this affected CanGo being able to grow the business, and to take on

other business ventures search as online gaming. CanGo planning process was negatively

impacted from lack of organization structure. CanGo was the leader of the fastest-growing

company in the Hudson Valley however; CanGo had no planning process to illustrate this

achievement.

Problem details:
From CanGo not having a Planning Process the organization risks its sustainability to

remain viable. In addition, CanGo also risks losing their customer base, which is most likely

their main source of income. Because CanGo is online sales business, they are susceptible to the

volatility of market place economy, and without an affective Planning Process in place the

sustainability of organization. These risks would make CanGo operations an item on the short

Week 2 - Analysis Report 6

list of strategic planning issues, and stop CanGo from growing their business. CanGo lack of a

Strategic Plan is an issue because of the potential size of the impacts and the time prospect over

which this may affect the business operations.

Resolution:
CanGo resolutions were changing their strategic planning issues into create a vision of

their future and the strategies needed to get there. CanGo needs to include its employees in the

planning of strategy and direction for the organization. Another strategy that CanGo may utilize

is a bottom up and top down communication approach to engage their employees in their

decision-making process. CanGo senior management should implement a process that welcomes

their employees ideals and suggestions, and created strategies that required innovation to

achieve goals. ABC Business Solutions identified areas for improvement and implemented a

Strategic Plan detailing critical elements of projects of CanGo needs to prioritize and utilize and

implement proper resources to ensure the success of the projects.

Strengths and Weaknesses

Identify the problem:
According to Experts, M. (2016 Para 1), Knowing employees plays a crucial role in

motivating employees to deliver their level best. When CanGo manager does not know their

staff, it can cause the company to fail and not be as strong as it could and should be. Anyone in

management should know his or her staff and employees very well. You can define an employee

as an individual who will work hard to achieve goals and objectives within a particular

organization/business. CanGo managers need to understand their employees, they need to know

their employees strengths and weaknesses, inform the employees what their expectations are for

them. CanGo management does not know their staff true potential and dear ability complete the

Week 2 - Analysis Report 7

company goals. CanGo management does not understand the potential of their employees and

the value that comes from having employees work in a group environment.

Problem details:
When a manager knows his or her employees, it plays a huge role in motivating them to

deliver their very best capabilities. It also helps managers understand their needs and

expectations from their workplace; it also leads to better results and better productivity. In a

workplace where managers understand their employees well, there is hardly ever a problems and

it becomes a better place for everyone to work.

Resolution:
CanGo can benefit by taking the time to talk to staff members, to get to know them.

Have staff trainings and lunch-ins to discuss what they do and do not like. Just by asking

employees what their strengths and weaknesses are to get a feel on what they know how to do

and do not.

Resistant to Change (staff impact):

Identify the problem:
Many companies constantly undergo changes, but change is necessary in the businesses

industry. Some staff/employees are not able to adjust, as they should be, being flexible is part of

working in most organizations. When employees are not able to adjust, it can cause confusion

and conflict.

Problem details:
According to Brookins, M. (2004 para 2) Changes within an organization start with

key decision makers. When staff/employees are not able to adjust well to change, it causes

Week 2 - Analysis Report 8

many problems. Problems that CanGo created from the lack efficient and effective of

communication are Poor Communication, lack of trust, feeling excluded, and self-interest.

CanGos poor communication has already made the employees feel as though they are

not a part of the decision-making process since they were not properly informed with details and

accurate information about the drastic changes.

The lack of trust is when employees feel like they cannot trust their management team

because of the changes, and they can sometimes feel like they are going to lose their jobs.

Feeling excluded, comes into play, if management makes a sudden change, without getting their

staff / employees opinion on how they feel about it and makes them feel left out, and excluded

from the businesses decisions. Self-interest can occur when a company undergoes a big change

and some employees egos can interfere, which may cause the employees to resist change.

Resolution:
Of course, the staff can sometimes have a problem with change, but if CanGos Owner

give her employees a heads up and keep them informed with the change then the transition will

go smoother in the future. CanGo can involve their employees with the decisions, so they will

not feel left out, and they are more comfortable with a new change. So just by keeping, the

employees informed ahead of time and keeping them in the loop with the decisions their staff

and employees will soon adjust to the change and the staff impact on change will not be so bad.

We suggest that CanGo holds weekly meetings, followed by a monthly all hands meeting. The

minutes from the meetings should be stored on the companies shared drive so all employees can

refer to them at any time. The proposed meetings will allow everyone to be advised of the

ongoing business operations. We want to encourage CanGos owner to let the employees know

she has an open door policy. An open door policy will let the staff know that they can come to

Week 2 - Analysis Report 9

her with any concerns, will help keep moral up, and improve employee performance. If CanGo

can implement these changes, it will turn around the communication between management and

employees.

CanGo needs to be aware of the cost for system

requirements
Identify the problem:
When Warren tasked Nick with the proposal for the online gaming addition he advised

him not to address any defenses when creating the online gaming proposal. Warren was more

concerned with the basic details and the profits that could be predicted.

Problem details:
Some of the keys to success when launching a digital platform are product quality,

competition pricing and fast delivery (Kerr, A. (2006). In order to provide those things to

CanGos customers the team members have to consider the cost involved and make sure the

company can afford to launch this platform while offering those keys mention. When submitting

a proposal, a defense for the possible cost increase and new cost should be addressed. CanGo

should be considering where the extra money would come from. We would need to look at their

financial documents in order to help them. Team let us start with the one balance sheet that is

available. It will show CanGos current assets, liabilities, and capital. We will be looking at a

detailing balance of the income and expenditure over the most recent period.

Resolution:
CanGo needs to be aware of the cost for system requirements and minimum and

maximum number of servers, along with the cost for an upload of the game software and

installation script. One significant cost when creating this digital platform is the amount of

BUSN_460 Month Year SESSION Professor name

Week 2 - Analysis Report 10

bandwidth cost not only game traffic but also the associated downloads of patches and new game

content (Martin. (2015, April 17).

After reviewing the Human Resources files none of the CanGo team members have any

background in the gaming industry. We are going to recommend that CanGo outsource for help.

They can start by hiring five people who are technical experts in gaming platforms. We can

advise them to seek out an artist, coders, QC personnel, a digital designer, and a programmer.

Before hiring a power digital team, we can develop a budget because this will add temporary

expenses that by our research shows will be worth it.

We took the time to look into companies like Telltale games, Sony, Plain Vanilla games,

GUNHO Online Entertainment, Super cell, Capybara Games, and King. The annual revenue

earned by these companies is impressive. The King company, who introduced the Candy Crush

Saga, showed 500 million downloads in 2014 (Kemp, K. (2016, July 13). That left them with an

estimate $1 million in daily revenue. That shows that if this is present correctly CanGos

investments will show their worth!

CanGo has no Privacy Statement:

Identify the problem:
Classicartwork.com revealing CanGo has no privacy statement. CanGo is considering selling

their customers information and they need to be aware of the Federal Trade Commission Policy.

Problem details:
The lack of consumer online privacy can create legal and ethical issues (Eve M. Caudill,

Patrick E. Murphy (2000). We need to make the CanGo Team aware of these issues and provide

them guidance if they do decide to sell their customers information.

BUSN_460 Month Year SESSION Professor name

Week 2 - Analysis Report 11

Resolution:
The privacy statement details how the company intends to use the personal information

gathered from their customers. Our research shows that the Consumer Online Privacy and

Disclosure Bill was introduced January 31, 2001, but did not pass. This bill would require the

Federal Trade Commission to enforce regulations that protect consumers personal information.

Although, the House and the Senate has not passed the Bill the Federal Trade Commission still

protects the consumer when the company in writing ensures to protect their rights for privacy

and safeguard their personal information. We did find cases where the FTC has brought legal

action against companies that failed to safeguard and the FTC have won 80% of the cases

(Wyatt, E. (2013, May 07).

Selling of the consumer information is not illegal here in the United States but CanGo

does need to understand that if they do so a policy has to be put out in place to notify their

customer base and give them an option to opt out of receiving any advertisements.

Conclusion
We the Team of ABC Business Solutions presented CanGo with illustrations, solutions,

analysis reports, and strategies that CanGo can implement, develop strategies, make a Strategic

Plain to attain their short-, medium-, and long-terms results, to improving their Strategic Plan on

a continual basis. If CanGo implement and follow the strategies ABC Business Solutions

presented to them, they will have the necessary strategies and strategic planning to become

sustainable and remain sustainable and profitable for the present and future of the organization.

With these strategies, CanGo can now start to plan for future and they have a vision on how to

grow their business operation implementing new ventures such as online gaming.
