Knowledge of Cervical Cancer and Motivation to Have IVA Test in Work
Region III of Community Health Center of Manahan, Surakarta. The Study

Background: Cervical cancer is the first cause of woman mortality. The lack of
knowledge of it and the less motivation of early detection of the disease make the
clients in majority when coming for treatment have severe conditions.
Childbearing women in Manahan Ward ever followed the IVA test is 11%. The
objective of this research is to investigate the correlation between the childbearing
womens knowledge of cervical cancer and the motivation to have IVA test in the
work region of Community Health Center of Manahan, Surakarta.
Method: This research used the observational analytical method with the crosssectional approach. It was conducted from January to June 2016 at Work Region
III of Community Health Center of Manahan, Surakarta. The samples of research
were determined through random sampling technique and consisted of 57
respondents. The data of research were collected through questionnaire and
analyzed by using the Pearsons Product Moment Correlation Coefficient.
Result: The minimum and maximum knowledge scores were 13and 26
respectively; the mean score was 20.03; the median score was 20; and the
deviation standard score was 3.7. In addition, the minimum and maximum
motivation scores were 39 and 80 respectively; the mean score was 62.43; the
median score was 64; and the deviation standard score was 7.95. The correlation
strength was (r)=0.953 and the p-value was 0.000, meaning that there was a
positive correlation between the childbearing womens knowledge of cervical
cancer and the motivation to have IVA test in the work region of Community
Health Center of Manahan, Surakarta.
Conclusion: The higher knowledge of childbearing womens about cervical
cancer, the higher motivation to have IVA test in the work region of Community
Health Center of Manahan, Surakarta.
