Category 3: Women and Youth Enlightenment

In the effort to ensure that grassroots women and youths are not trapped in the
poverty cycle in their old age, BLIFA organizes enlightenment workshops and

Media Communications
BLIFA has a policy of collaborating with the media. This policy is aimed at
continuously placing on the centre stage on the spotlight, the sub-human
conditions in which the majority of our aged people are living. It is the hope of
BLIFA that by highlighting these unacceptable conditions in the media, it will
touch a heart or two that somebody in authority will think of something
sustainable to do for these people, or even an ordinary man on the street with a
naira or two or welfare materials to spare, will look in the direction of these
helpless aged people.

Sustaining Solace
Subsequent to our coordinators conferences, various micro-scale industries have
been identified to be cited in various communities in Akwa Ibom State. These
would be exhibited on our websites and letters would also be sent to prospective
sponsors.

BLIFA looks forward to collaborations with Governments and Corporate

organisations, Not-For-Profit organisations and high net worth individuals
towards citing and operating location-relevant micro-scale industries which
profits can provide stipends to aged people on sustainable basis.
In this regard, it is our policy to exercise care to ensure that these projects are well
managed from the level of feasibility study and business plan through to day-today operations and stipend administration.

Supporters
Our supporters are corporate and not-for-profit organisations and individuals who
are touched by the sub-human conditions in which the great majority of the aged
people live, especially in the grassroots.

These organisations and people provide technical and financial support, and also
materials that enable our field missions.
