Students of Medical Faculty of UMI

Background
The competency examination of Student Medical Profession Program (UKMPPD) organized in
cooperation with the Association of Medical Education Institutions of Indonesia and Indonesia
Doctors of the College, which has been started since 2007, is a competency examination that
should be taken by the doctor who recently graduated from medical faculty as one of the
requirements to register in the Indonesia Medical Council.
The competency examination aims to provide a comprehensive information regarding the
knowledge, skills, and attitudes of the general practitioners graduate to the holder's authority as
part of the requirements for registration, which later on can be used to obtain a medical practice
license
In an attempt to have sustainable improvement, competency examination has gone through
several changes, such as the methodology, the passing grade, and the implementation
organization.
Comprehensive exam is a selection test for the students who will join MPPD with a purpose to
measure the theoretical understanding of the UKMPPD FK UMI candidates. The comprehensive
exams at the Medical Faculty of UMI is conducted three times in one batch of UKMPPD. The
exam is computer based multiple choice test (CBT). The comprehensive exam is a prerequisite
for a yudisium.
Purpose:
To understand the role of comprehensive exams towards the passing rate of UKMPPD to the
students of Medical Faculty of UMI
Methodology:
The evaluation of the comprehensive exam towards the passing rate of UKMPPD to the students
in Medical Faculty of UMI is conducted through cross sectional methodology with correlational
analytic approach.

Result:
The number of student who passed the UKMPPD FK UMI has increased after the
implementation of selection test for the students who will take UKMPPD comprehensive exam.
Data taken from batches III and IV in 2015 until batch II in 2016.
Conclusion:
The comprehensive exam is one of the learning methods that can help the MPPD students in
preparation for the comprehensive exam of UKMPPD.
