1. Anticipation WH Questions:
Distribute help sheets and photocopies of article on Usain Bolt.
For each question, give them the time to answer individually and then go over
it collectively. Ask a volunteer to read each question. If possible, ask a weaker
student to give a short answer and, if possible, a full sentence. If he or she is
incapable doing so, ask a stronger student to help him or her. Then ask several
students to repeat the correct answer.

They call him the Lightning Bolt , but his real name is Usain Bolt. He is a Jamaican
sprinter. Some people think that he is the fastest person ever . He is twenty-five.
He has had many difficulties being from a poor family, but he has always dreamt of

winning the Olympics. To acheive his goal, he has trained since his early childhood.
His coach describes him as a hardworker because he has always trained seven days a
week. Thanks to all his hardwork, he finally achieved his goal, winning the 100m and
200m title during the last Olympic games.
He defended this 100m title in stunning style in the London 2012 Olympics and won
Sunday's final in an Olympic record time of 9.63 seconds. He has become a true world
champion. "It was wonderful," said the 25-year-old. "I knew it was going to be like
this. There wasn't a doubt in my mind that it was going to be loud and it was going to
be great. "
