Objective
The objective of the conference is to provide a
platform
for
academicians,
researchers
practitioners and doctoral students to exchange
knowledge, experiences and share innovative
ideas on the shifting role of operations
management for sustainable development through
the presentation of papers, panel discussions, and
meetings. Although papers addressing the theme
of the conference are desirable, papers addressing
a broader area of Operations Management and the
interface between Operations Management and
other disciplines of Management are also
welcome.

SOM 2016: The context


The United Nations sustainable development goals
aims to end poverty, achieve good health and well
being, restore balance in ecology, address climate
change, achieve universal education, nurture
innovation, develop infrastructure, balance in airwater-soil systems and gear towards inclusive and
balanced growth. These global goals and worldchanging objectives require cooperation among
governments, international trade and service
organizations.
Towards this end, technological know-how and
principles of management needs to be
amalgamated together so as to make a meaningful
impact. SOM 2016 aims to provide a platform to
researchers for sharing of their research work to a
wider community of technology and operations
management professionals.
