ENGINEER.. 1G SPECIFICATION
Bearing stress shall be found by dividing the lifting attachment
des!gn load by the product of the diameter of the pin and padeye
width (main plate plus twice the ctive cheek plate thickness).

Cheek Plates_
The effective thickness of each cheek plate shall be limited to the
smallest value of :

Pull Out Shear
Pull out shear shall be checked by dividing the lifting attachment
design load by twice the total cross sectional area between the hole
and outer edge of the eye in the direction of the applied load.

The minimum distance from the edge of the pinhole to the edge of
the main plate shall be one pinhole diameter.
Sling Clearance
Weld Clearance
Clearance should exist between the full penetration butt weld
attaching the main plate to themain leg tubular or main beam and
the fillet weld around the cheek plate.
In order to achieve
sufficient clearance the distance between the edge of the cheek
plate and the edge of the main tubular (or beam) should be at
least the main plate thickness plus llhqa.
