Suad worked with Foundation 1 class (FS1). There are twenty-one children in the class and three special
needs children. Many of the children are EAL children (English as an additional Language).
There are four groups of children in the class, with three groups of six and one group of three students.
Suad taught a lesson with the children based on Families. She had two activities in this lesson. She
explained her activities to the whole class and proceeded to take two groups. With one group, she made a
house out of ice-lollypop sticks and the children had to draw their family inside the house. It was a nice
activity. She had a sample of work to help the children to understand what was expected of them. In her
other activity, she had a picture for the children to colour. Her activities were suitable for the age group and
the children enjoyed their work.
Suad enjoyed Maths activities and was keen to learn about how we use resources in the classroom. Suad
used numicon for two Maths group activities.
Suad helped the children at cutting and colouring activities, in small groups.
Suad participated in a one kilometer health walk with the children on three occasions.

She is gentle and kind and wants to praise children when they are good or have done good work.
She is a positive influence on children and was keen to encourage them.
Suad enjoys teaching, in particular Maths, and was keen to use resources that were new to her.
Suad planned her lesson. She asked questions and was keen to ensure that her lesson was effective. She
looked for feedback and took advice on board.
Areas for Development:
Suad needs to practice using English if she wants to work in an English-speaking school.

General Comments:
Suad has a polite and pleasant disposition and it was a pleasure to have her in the classroom.

She is kind with the children and was keen to learn about the activities that the children were doing,
particularly in Maths. She loved all the resources and was keen to learn how to use them. She showed an
interest in learning how to manage in a classroom setting and how to teach children effectively.
She asked for advice and listened attentively and took all advice on board. She looked for feedback on her
activities.
Suad needs to be aware of being professional at work. This includes informing the school and class teacher
if you are absent. Otherwise she was good.
I think she will be a good teacher. Good luck with teacher training, Suad. I think the job will suit you.
