This page displays the tasks of the innovation and change course.
However, this course extended my knowledge about different types of
leadership models that the principle might have in her leadership style.
Moreover, the leadership styles that I recognized the differences
between them are bureaucratic leadership that based on leader who
could insure that there is an equality in opportunities for all workers,
collegial leadership which based on a leader that share and democracy
that leads to less conflict in the working that increase the productivity
of

the

employees,

and

last

leadership

style

which

called

transformational leadership style that based on a leader who always

motivates

his/her

followers

to

achieve

the

highest

levels

of

performance possible by transforming their beliefs, attitudes, and

values.

Additionally, through doing this course I identified that changes are

happening during time and teachers most overcome the challenges of
the changes such as excepting the transformation between the
projector into smart board that needs skills to use probably. However,
as teachers of the future we must recognize that education is changing
and developing faster than the past, and education nowadays allows
students to use their creativity and extending their knowledge by
themselves. For example, students in past used to listen to the teacher
only without opening dialogs or sharing ideas, while teachers these
days are making dialogs that leads students to think logically to find
answers and do background research to extend their knowledge, which
means that generations are developing in learning and we should get
use of that because this is a huge transformation in few weeks.

Furthermore, in this course I learned about the leadership

characteristic and qualities that good leaders have:
-

Being a leader who have many skills to manage things

Creativity in ideas, thoughts, and development to the best
Context relevant skills such as time management and solving

problems
Humility that make others respect the leader
Enthusiasm: being active and give energy to the followers to

make them be optimum

Integrity
Solid subject knowledge
Courage to face different challenges
Delegation
Spontaneous communication and action
Transformable to change and develop
Ability of changing agents
Innovate
Coherence making

In addition, these qualities improve educational system in a huge way

because education needs leaders who can make improvements
positive and changes that increase students learning, and improve
their skills in all sides such as communication and language skills.
Moreover, I believe that innovation and changes has many
advantages in education because schools need to innovate by
integrate technologies as well as transform instructions. however,
linking to the edutopia.org website that it is not the results that are
necessarily in innovation, but the way the group goes about making
the process of the work, (Holland, 2014). So, the leader who has the
skills of making good change is the person who has creativity, effective
communication skills, and ability of changing agents in order to
innovate things into best change results.
Finally, during doing innovation and change tasks I recognized the
different styles of leadership, and I am practicable to know the type of
leadership of principles and leaders. For example, I identified that

Shaikha bint Saeed school principle is a transformational and collegial

leadership style, because she always shows kindness with all
stakeholders, has good communication skills, ability of changing in a
process that makes all teachers agree with her decisions, and her
professionalism of taking care of specific details into most important
details of her school. Furthermore, the principle personality shows that
she is a very organized principle that can inspire and motivates
employees around her to achieve visions that develop learning process
in education.
