Through more than 40 years venture, China National Chemical Engineering No. 16
Construction Co., Ltd.(CNCEC16 in abbreviation) has now developed into a
large-scale comprehensive chemical and petroleum construction-based construction
enterprise in China.
Looking back at the past, in the construction field of national chemical and
petrochemical industry, we cooperated with friends of various circles sincerely, and
wrote a glorious page for the development of our countrys petrochemical

Inaugurated in 1965, China National Chemical Engineering No. 16 Construction Co.,

Ltd. (CNCEC16 in abbreviation), its headquarters is located adjacent to the position of
world Three Gorges project,, the world famous city - Yichang Hubei City, is a wholly
owned subsidiary of China National Chemical Engineering Corporation (601117), is a
construction enterprise of large chemical and petrochemical construction and
installation project in the field of China petroleum and chemical industry. It possesses
the following qualifications: Grade A general contractor qualification of chemical
industrial engineering and petroleum project, Grade A general construction
contractor qualification of housing & building engineering project; Grade A general
contractor qualification of municipal utility engineering project; Grade A general
construction contractor qualification of Mechanical, electrical & instrumentation
installation engineering project; Grade A professional contractor qualification of
painting and insulation works; Grade A professional contractor qualification of
chemical and petroleum equipments & piping installation works; Grade Aprofessional
contractor qualification of environmental protection engineering works, Grade A
professional contractor qualification of steel structure engineering works. It has the
capability to undertake general and /or professional contractor for construction
chemical and petrochemical construction projects in installation of equipments,
wiring, piping, electrical , instrumentation and packaged units, fabrication and
installation of various steel structures, industrial and civil building projects, painting
& insulation, environmental protection and municipal utility works and the like; as
well as to cooperate with the construction unit for implementation preparation till
final production. Since the past fifty years, it has completed construction of
thousands of national large and medium sized chemical, petrochemical, coal
chemical projects; especially, it has undertaken the construction of such foreign
projects as in Indonesia, Germany, Syria, Vietnam, Pakistan, Turkey and other
overseas projects, creating a number of national, provincial and industrial high
quality projects.
CNCEC16 ascended officially among the high-tech enterprises in 2013, and then
received the Key High-tech Enterprise Certificate of National Torch Plan
subsequently, and its technology center was identified as a Hubei Provincial
Enterprise Technology Center. Its technological innovation ability, research and
development level and the core competitiveness are increased gradually. It now has
4 billion RMB yuan annual construction management capacity.

Fabrication

&

Installation

Steel Structures

CNCEC16 can contract for such

constructions as fabrication and
installation of oil tanks, gas holders and
metal structures. And during the
fabrication and installation, center
lifting pole, gin poles supporting group
and truck cranes are adopted;
construction methods such as upward
(bottom-shell-roof) assembly process,
upside-down
assembly
process,
hydraulic jacking process, air-rise
upside-down assembly way and floating
plate up-floating method and so on are
mastered and used. CNCEC16 has

completed
the
fabrication
and
installation of dome roof tanks with
capacity of 2000cubic meter, wet gas
holders with capacity from 10000 to
50000 cubic meters and oil tanks with
capacity from 10,000 to 100000 cubic
meters.

3. Installation of Process Equipments

CNCEC16 can undertake process equipments installation in the field of large-scale
chemical, petrochemical, coal chemical industry and other industries; it has such
capacities as, installation for long-distance pipeline (GA1 B), industrial pipeline (Class
GC1), Power Pipeline (Class GD1), utility pipeline (Class GB1 of gas and Class GB2 of
thermal) and non-metal pipelines; site welding of spherical tanks (Class A3), boiler
installation (all parameters), installation of pressure vessels and fabrication of Class I
& II pressure vessels, and installation of heavy rotating equipments and hoisting
machinery (All parameters).
Abundant experiences have been accumulated in installation of large-scale rotating
equipments especially, such as installation of Model LG63C-430/3.8 large screw
compressor, Model DA400-61,2500KW turbine compressor, Model 7MY50-315/320
nitrogen and hydrogen gas compressor, turbine compressor for a 45000 m/h air
separation unit, the 4-in-1 unit of nitric acid plant, large ball mill, dryer, filter and
rotary kiln.
In installation of boilers, a 220t/h 9.8Mpa boiler and its supporting device of a 50MW
turbo generator unit have been installed.
In installation of hoisting equipments, installation of bridge cranes with rated lifting
capacity greater than 80t and with span greater than 34.5m, gantry cranes and tower
cranes with rated lifting moment greater than 80TM and installation of lifts & small
light lifting equipment are mainly covered.

5. Earth &Stone Works

CNCEC16 has an annual earth &stone works construction capacity of 5,000,000 cubic
meters, has the capacity of laying 10 thousand cubic meter impervious
geomembranes per day in Phosphogypsum Slag Stack building and the storage
capacity of 50 million cubic meter slag Stack.

6. Electrical & Instrumentation

CNCEC16 possesses Class 110KV "Installation (repair, test) power facilities permit
and can contract for installation, repair and test of 110KV or below power facilities.

medium-sized central control room. CNCEC16 has obvious advantages of electrical &
instrumentation works construction especially in the aspects of refining,
hydrocracking, hydrotreating, PX, PTA, PP, CPE, PVC, synthetic ammonia, urea,
phosphoric acid, ammonium phosphate fertilizer plant.
The company has the following experience in installation and commissioning of
electrical & instrumentation devices:

7. Lifting /Hoisting

CNCEC16 has the capacity of

lifting/hoisting heavy-duty equipments,
truck crane hoisting, gin poles and
existing buildings can be used to carry
out a variety of lifting operations.
CNCEC16 has successfully completed
heavy lifting of complete major /
important equipments for 1 million
ton/year soda ash plant and 1.8 million
ton/year methanol unit, 300 thousand
tons/year synthetic ammonia unit, 520
thousand ton/year urea unit, 400
thousand ton/year polypropylene, 1.3
million tons of medium pressure
hydrogenation and gasoline / diesel
hydrogenation unit. For lifting of the
complete metal roof truss, a 265T
complete steel roof truss with diameter
of 86.2m is integrally lifted by two or
more truck cranes. A 145.3m high,
880.7ton flare stack is lifted and
assembled segment by segment with
heavy
crane.

8. Welding
CNCEC16 has a variety of metal and nonmetallic welding capability, possesses a
national "Stainless Steel Pipe Weldng Method"; ministerial "Pure Nickel Pipe Welding
Method", ministerial "Low Temperature steel welding Method," ministerial
"Industrial Pure Titanium Pipe Welding Method" and ministerial "Stainless Steel Clad
Plates 316L +16 MnR Welding Method."
CNCEC16 has sets of welding construction techniques and project practical
experiences in carbon steel, alloyed steel, stainless steel, copper, aluminum, cast iron,
babbitt, Hastelloy, aluminum-magnesium alloy, titanium, zirconium titanium and
other materials. For welding of different kind special equipment (boilers, pressure
vessels, pressure piping, cranes) with operating temperature at -198 to 450 ,
and operating pressure from atmosphere to 31.36 MPa, relevant Welding Procedure
Qualification Reports have been prepared, tested and stored in file and are
applicable to all types of projects welding needs and applications.
CNCEC16 has made impressive achievements, especially in welding of stainless steel
material. CNCEC16 has the current domestic advanced welding of ultra-low carbon
stainless steel 316L-mod material with high temperature resistance, high pressure,
high cleanliness; welding of thin wall (grade of 5S) stainless steel piping and those
with super cleanliness requirements; argon arc welding on double sides of thin-wall
stainless steel tank shell plate; and the capacity of welding high strength stainless
steel composite material with thickness up to 60mm.
