Sambalilo Festival

In the old town proper of what is now the bustling city of Paraaque south of
the city of Manila, there occurs a unique celebration among its townspeople
which celebrates the lively and beautiful hats worn by them. These exquisite
hats are called sambalilo, where it is made of indigenous and natural
material and are known to be durable. And this celebration is immortalized
in the Sambalilo Hat Festival, celebrated every February 13th every year and
is now integrated in the festivities of the Araw ng Palanyag (Paraaque Day),
the citywide celebration of the foundation of the city of Paraaque.
