TASK
Your task is to build a model rocket and report on the overall success of your project. After successfully building your
rocket, you will be required to launch the rocket from the school oval under controlled conditions to determine the overall
success of your design. A journal will be completed to validate all of your findings.
COMPLETION DATE
Draft: A draft must be submitted for validating journal entries and rockets will only be launched after
successfully meeting a strict build criteria.
Due Date: To be determined
The written report/journal must be submitted as a hardcopy as well as uploaded to your website
CONDITIONS
LENGTH: Class time will be allocated over 5 weeks
Each student will build an individual rocket and complete a journal/report

Once you have completed the above questions and only then must you seek approval from your teacher to proceed building.
A journal must be kept on the entire process. The journal must be done on your website. Your journal will include the answers to the above questions, descriptions
of all components used and photographic evidence. You must discuss all successes and failures associated with your project.
Launching
A final launch will take place (over several lessons to cater for all students) to satisfy the assessment criteria. You will be assessed on how straight or suitable
trajectory your flight path is, the height achieved, successful deployment and functioning of parachute system and finally the strength or build integrity of
your rocket. In other words does your rocket soar successfully or crash and burn! Each student will have one launch only.
All students must submit an individual copy of the journal by scanning and uploading it to your website as well as submitting a hardcopy of the task sheet and
criteria sheet prior to launching.
