PM Configuration in SAP

Transaction code SPRO will bring to the reference IMG, where all the
configuration nodes are available:
The first part in any project is to create the organization structure, which by
creating the company structure in SAP, and allowing the different entities of the
business to function as per business processes.

In the define node, the organization structures are created, while in the assign
node, the organization units created and assigned together
Company code, controlling area, business area etc. will be created in the
Financial Accounting and Controlling Nodes:

Plant is created in Logistics General normally by MM or PP teams

Storage Location for Plant is maintained in MM along with Purchasing Org:

While the PM Setup for assigning Planning Plant is done in the following node:

Press the New Entries button to add a new Planning Plant

In the Assignment Section all the Org Structure created in Define in assigned
together.
As per definition, in the assignment also the activities have been segregated as
per the module:

Controlling

Logistics - General

Materials Management

Plant Maintenance
In the Plant Maintenance we assign the Maintenance Plant to Planning Plant.
The Planning Plant can also be assigned as a Maintenance Plant, or multiple
plants can be made a Maintenance Plants and assigned to one Planning Plant

How to find relevant customizing node

In order to find the relevant customizing node for any field, proceed as follows:
For example to find where to customize a new mask for Functional Location,
lets go to the functional location create transaction IL01

On the field Labelling System, press F1, a new window will open with the help
text for the relevant field:

In the help text window, click on the customizing icon as below:

This will now open a new window as below for customizing, click on the button
Continue without Specifying Project

This will open the customizing in SPRO to the specific node where mask can be
changed or a new mask can be created.

Double click on the node to open and then update or create a new mask.

Another example is the equipment options while creating an equipment in IE01

Double Click to open

Select the first line Maintain Equipment Category

And Double Click to open the following for Maintain Equipment Category

Press on New Entries and create a New Eqp. Category
