Tour guide 1:
- Good morning everyone. Hope you all had a good sleep last night because
today we are going to have a non-stop walking trip. So first, let me officially introduce

myself to all of you. Im Pizza and I will be your tour guide throughout the whole day
today and the third day of your trip. There will also be another tour guide that will be
helping us out but unfortunately hes not here yet. So I guess we will meet him at The
Mosque of the Shah instead.
- Before arriving at our first destination, I would like to ask you all to pull out
your tour package and look at the schedule for the three days trip in Iran. This is what
it should look like. So, as you already know, the first place we are heading to today is
Naghsh-e Jahan Square. this place is surrounded by the imam mosque, Ali Qapu
palace, Sheikh Lotf Allah Mosque, and Isfahan Grand Bazaar. So we will stay there
for the whole day and hopefullly we will be able to visit all of those four places. Do
you guys have any concerns about the schedule for today? If not, then you guys can
sit back and relax. One more thing to remind all of you, when going to the museum or
places that are packed with tourists, please stick in groups and follow this flag. And
let me know if you need to go to toilet.
- We are now at Naghsh-e Jahan Square, be ready to go down and it is always
a good idea to bring down your coat with you since it is quite cold today. Oh there he
is, Mr. Late.
Tour guide 2:
- Hello guys. Apologize for coming late today but I had an urgent accident at
home. My name is Anon, I was born here, in Istafan and I worked as a tour guide for
this agency for 10 years already. So ask me anything you want to know about Iran, I
am here to answer your questions!
- This place that you guys are standing at right now is called the Naghsh-i
Jahan square.
- Information about the square: Naghsh-e Jahan Square (Design of the world)
officially known as Imam Square, situated at the center of Isfahan city, Iran. It is an
important historical site and one of UNESCO's World Heritage Sites. The square is
surrounded by buildings from the Safavid era. The Imam Mosque is situated on the
south side of this square. On the west side you can find Ali Qapu Palace. Sheikh Lotf
Allah Mosque is situated on the eastern side of this square and the northern side
opens into the Isfahan Grand Bazaar. Today, Namaaz-e Jom'eh (the Muslim Friday
prayer) is held in this square in front of the Imam Mosque. It was Shah Abbas the
Great who made Isfahan his capital and then decreed that the square should be
extended to its present size, and lovely buildings set around it. The length of this
great square, which is actually rectangular, is 500 meters from north to south, and its
width about 150 meters from east to west. It was laid out and beautified in the reign
of Shah Abbas the Great, at the beginning of the seventeenth century.
- So now we will go into the mosque of the shah first but before entering the
mosque I will need to inform you all about the etiquette.
- First thing is..ETIQUETTE
Tour guide 1:
- hmm... I hope you guys were all paying attention to what Mr. Anon just said
because these information are very important and iranian people are very strict about
those rules.
Tour guide 2:
- As you walk into the mosque, you would see..

- Imam Mosque is a mosque in Isfahan standing in south side of Naghsh-i

Jahan Square. The mosque is also known as Shah Mosque, Royal Mosque and
Abbasi Jame Mosque. Built during the Safavids period, it is an excellent example of
Islamic architecture of Iran, and regarded as the masterpiece of Persian Architecture.
The Imam Mosque of Esfahan is one of the everlasting masterpieces of architecture
in Iran and all over the world. It is registered along with the Naghsh-i Jahan Square
as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Its construction began in 1611, and its splendor
is mainly due to the beauty of its seven-color mosaic tiles and calligraphic
inscriptions. The portal of the mosque measures 27 meters high, crowned with two
minarets 42 meters tall. The Mosque is surrounded with four iwans and arcades. All
the walls are ornamented with seven-color mosaic tile. The most magnificent iwan of
the mosque is the one facing the Qibla measuring 33 meters high. Behind this iwan is
a space which is roofed with the largest dome in the city at 52 meters height. The
dome is double layered. The acoustic properties and reflections at the central point
under the dome is an amusing interest for many visitors. There are two seminaries at
the southwest and southeast sections of the mosque..
- I will let you guys take photos around the mosque for about half an hour and
after that we will meet at the same place before we came in here. Please be on time
so the schedule stay on the time track.

Tour guide 1:
- So did you get to take a lot of photos with the mosque?
- .., tell me something about the Mosque of the shah?
- ANSWER from the audience.
- Now lets walk to the Ali Qapu Palace. At the west of Maidane Immam
(Naghsh-e Jahan), just in front of the Sheikh Lotfollah mosque one, of the most
magnificent palaces of 17th century is located. The Ali Qapu palace is well-known
palace all over Iran. The first part of palace was built in 1597. It was used as a
residential palace. Shah Abbas the great, ordered to construct the palace on the site
of palace and garden from the Timurid time. Shah Abbass palace was a four floors
with a veranda. Shah Abbas the second, expanded the palace and a music hall
(room) was constructed on the top of palace. The palace is about 38 meters high, the
loftiest and tallest building in the 17th century. There are 52 rooms, but because a long
restoration most of rooms are closed to visitors. Iranian empire, in 17 th century was a serious
rival to Ottoman Empire. European countries wished to create hostility between two empires.
Their plans and plots were successful. In Istanbul of 17 th century there was a palace with the
same name. Some of Isfahanologists believe that Shah Abbas the great highly respected the
first Shiite Immam Ali. On the other hand Qapu is a Turkish word means, the magnificent
door. An old door was replaced from the shrine of Immam Ali in Najaf, to Isfahan. All people
even the Shah, when they entered the palace dismounted from horses, in order to respect
Immam Ali. Shah Abbas considered himself as a real follower of Immam Ali. A beautiful door
ornamented with gold, silver and other fine arts was made in Isfahan and dedicated to the
holy shrine of Immam Ali which is located in Najaf Iraq. Ali Reza Abbasi the prominent artist
has worked on glorious miniature paintings. The main reception hall and all other rooms were
decorated with fabulous plaster work, plaster carving and miniature paintings.

Mosque opposite us. But you guys can goto take pictures in front of the mosque

DAY 2:
Tour guide 3:
- Good morning my lovely tourists. Im Jeen and this is Pangpun. Both of us will
be taking over Anon and Pizzas job for today. How was the food at the hotel this
morning? good, isnt it? This hotel is five starred hotel, it has the best food and best
location in Isfahan, very well known hotel.
Tour guide 4:
- Yes, probably the most well known hotel in Isfahan!
- The first place we are heading to is Isfahan music museum. This museum hits
one of the top attractions in Isfahan as there are varieties of ancient music
instruments and interesting facts about different musicians.
- In a leafy street in Isfahans laid-back but ancient Jolfa quarter, away from
Imam Square and the bazaar for which the city is renowned, the Isfahan Music
Museum provides welcome refuge. A love letter to Irans rich musical heritage, the
small museum is much more than a series of instruments hanging on a wall.
Founded and funded by local musicians Mehrdad Jeihooni and Shahriar Shokrani in
December 2015, it showcases more than 300 instruments from around Iran, many
unchanged from their depictions in centuries-old paintings or miniatures on display
around the citys historic sites. These instruments include the kamancheh, thought to
be the ancestor of the modern violin and the tar, supposedly the precursor of the
guitar. There is also a variety of animal-skin drums, reed flutes (ney), nomadic camel
bells and a majestic harp, all in beautifully lit glass cabinets on crisp white walls, with
descriptions in English and Farsi. (Visitors are welcome to pick up and try the less
precious pieces.) After a guided tour whether for one person or a group of 20 the
visit culminates in a small, intimate performance, where traditional love songs and
Persian poetry are played by modern masters. In the short time it has been open, the
museum has received two awards, the latest from the International Council of
Museums (Icom) for the best private museum in Iran. Even those who are not music
fans will be entranced by the energy, warmth and sheer joy Mehrdad and Shahriar
exude at the sight of visitors.
Tour guide 3:
- Does anyone in here like music?
- tourist: Yes!!!

- Im sure you will be in love with this place! and you will also gain tons of
knowledges from this museum. If we are lucky enough, we might get to see an actual
performance of traditional iranian songs.
Tour guide 4:

museum and souvenir shop. And we will meet here at 11pm. Please be on time so
we could get to the restaurant as soon as possible.
- 12pm
- How was it everyone? Great? Well I guess you all are starving so lets head to
Bastani traditional restaurant. It will take us about roughly 10 minutes to the
restaurant, so I decided that we willl walk there since the weather is perfect today.
Tour guide 3:
- On the way walking to the restaurant, you will see Iranian houses and
buildings so feel free to take some pictures.
- after walking: yes we finally made it to the restaurant.

eveyone, so you guys can go in straightaway. No need to wait for the queue.

signature food for this restaurant.
