CAUTIONS
1. Avoid exposing the machine to freezing temperatures as the pump housing
will crack if water is allowed to freeze in it. If the unit must be exposed to
freezing conditions, run the pump dry for 10 seconds to drain the pump.
PUMP LUBRICATION
IMPORTANT Please Read Carefully
The GPW-2000-G and the GPW-3000-G are equipped with an oil bath pump.
When shipped, the crankcase is lled with the proper amount of break-in oil.
Due to the possibility of spillage in shipment, the oil level should be checked
prior to the rst use of the machine, as well as prior to each use.
With the machine resting on a level surface, the correct oil level should reach
the middle of the sight glass on the side of the pump. If the oil level is low, add
sufcient oil to the crankcase. DO NOT OVERFILL.
Crankcase oil [30Wnon-detergent hydraulic (ISO 68) oil]) should be used.
DO NOT USE MACHINE WITH INLET WATER HEATED ABOVE 160F (71C).
Crankcase oil should be changed after the rst 50 hours of operation and every
500 hours or less thereafter, depending on operating conditions.
GETTING READY
1. For Model GPW-2000-G connect a water hose capable of delivering 3 GPM
(11.4 LPM). For Model GPW-3000-G connect a water hose capable of
delivering 4.8 GPM (18.2 LPM). Consult the Goodway catalog for heavy-duty
water supply hose.
NOTE: Any restriction in the water supply may cause cavitation and pump
damage. Positive inlet pressure above 25 PSI (1.7 BAR) is required to avoid
cavitation. DO NOT RUN PUMP DRY.
2. Connect the high pressure hose to the quick disconnect on the pump.
3. Insert the dip tube into a container of concentrated soap or chemical, if used.
See "CHEMICAL OR SOAP INJECTION" for a more detailed explanation on
using soap or chemicals.
4. Check crankcase oil level. See instructions under "PUMP LUBRICATION."
5. Read "Before Starting" in the Briggs & Stratton Operating and Maintenance
Instructions provided.
OPERATION
The GPW-2000-G and the GPW-3000-G utilize quick disconnect nozzles which
allow the user to switch between soap and rinse cycles. The nozzle with the
larger orice delivers low pressure (200 PSI/13.8 BAR) and automatically
activates the siphon injector valve to apply soap or chemical. The mixing ratio
for the GPW-2000-G is approximately 32 parts water to 1 part chemical and 40 to
1 for the GPW-3000-G, depending on the viscosity of the chemical used. It takes
several seconds for the chemical to travel through the high pressure hose to
the nozzle. Chemical application is not instantaneous and chemical spray
continues for several seconds after switching to high pressure. The nozzles
with the smaller orices deliver a full pressure, fresh water rinse. They are color
coded by spray pattern: Red = 0, Yellow = 15, Green = 25, White = 40.
To switch from one nozzle to the other simply:
1. Release the trigger to stop the spray action.
2. Pull back the locking collar to release nozzle.
3. Insert new nozzle until locking collar snaps into place.
