or drugs.
8. Keep operating area clear of all persons.
9. Do not overreach or stand on unstable support. Keep good footing and
balance at all times.
10. Follow the maintenance instructions specied in the manual.
11. Use only Goodway recommended attachments.
WARNING: Risk of Injection or Severe Injury Keep Clear of Nozzle Do Not
Direct Discharge Stream at Humans or Animals. This Product Is To Be Used Only
By Trained Operators.

CAUTIONS
1. Avoid exposing the machine to freezing temperatures as the pump housing
will crack if water is allowed to freeze in it. If the unit must be exposed to
freezing conditions, run the pump dry for 10 seconds to drain the pump.

2. DO NOT RUN THE PUMP DRY FOR MORE THAN 15 SECONDS.

3. When the pump is running without spraying, the bypass valve allows the water to
circulate around the pump. This condition will gradually elevate the temperature
of the water through friction. Frequent or prolonged bypass can result in high
temperature build-up. These high temperatures cause premature failure of the
cups, seals, and packing of the pump. The GPW-2000-G and GPW-3000-G are
equipped with a Thermo Valve which protects the pump against overheating.
When the water temperature reaches 140F (60C), the Thermo Valve opens and
dumps the overheated water. Although equipped with a Thermo Valve, RUNNING
THE PUMP FOR MORE THAN 10 MINUTES WITHOUT SPRAYING IS NOT
RECOMMENDED.
4. Do not attempt to change the factory settings of the engine RPM, the bypass
valve pressure setting, or the nozzle orice size. Doing so may create an unsafe condition and shorten the life of the engine and pump.

ABOUT THE ENGINE

The GPW-2000-G is equipped with a Briggs & Stratton 6 HP (4.5 kW) Vanguard
single cylinder engine that drives a three piston oil bath pump. The GPW-3000-G is
equipped with a Briggs & Stratton 14 HP (10.4 kW) Vanguard twin cylinder engine
that drives a three piston oil bath pump. The operator should become familiar with
the information contained in the Briggs & Stratton Operating and Maintenance
Instructions enclosed with this machine. Engine repairs and warranty service are
available directly from your nearest Briggs & Stratton Service Center, which is
listed in the yellow pages under "Engines, Gasoline" or "Gasoline Engines."
NOTE: DO NOT RUN ENGINE WITHOUT AIR FILTER IN PLACE.

PUMP LUBRICATION
IMPORTANT Please Read Carefully
The GPW-2000-G and the GPW-3000-G are equipped with an oil bath pump.
When shipped, the crankcase is lled with the proper amount of break-in oil.
Due to the possibility of spillage in shipment, the oil level should be checked
prior to the rst use of the machine, as well as prior to each use.

With the machine resting on a level surface, the correct oil level should reach
the middle of the sight glass on the side of the pump. If the oil level is low, add
sufcient oil to the crankcase. DO NOT OVERFILL.
Crankcase oil [30Wnon-detergent hydraulic (ISO 68) oil]) should be used.
DO NOT USE MACHINE WITH INLET WATER HEATED ABOVE 160F (71C).
Crankcase oil should be changed after the rst 50 hours of operation and every
500 hours or less thereafter, depending on operating conditions.

GETTING READY
1. For Model GPW-2000-G connect a water hose capable of delivering 3 GPM
(11.4 LPM). For Model GPW-3000-G connect a water hose capable of
delivering 4.8 GPM (18.2 LPM). Consult the Goodway catalog for heavy-duty
water supply hose.
NOTE: Any restriction in the water supply may cause cavitation and pump
damage. Positive inlet pressure above 25 PSI (1.7 BAR) is required to avoid
cavitation. DO NOT RUN PUMP DRY.
2. Connect the high pressure hose to the quick disconnect on the pump.
3. Insert the dip tube into a container of concentrated soap or chemical, if used.
See "CHEMICAL OR SOAP INJECTION" for a more detailed explanation on
using soap or chemicals.
4. Check crankcase oil level. See instructions under "PUMP LUBRICATION."
5. Read "Before Starting" in the Briggs & Stratton Operating and Maintenance
Instructions provided.

STARTING THE MACHINE

DO NOT ATTEMPT TO START THE ENGINE UNLESS ALL THE
FOLLOWING HAVE BEEN DONE.
1. Turn on the water supply.

2. Connect the high pressure hose to the power unit.

3. Pull and hold the trigger on the spray gun.
4. Pull the starter rope.
NOTE: Attempting to pull the starter rope with the trigger closed or the high
pressure hose disconnected is very difcult. Connecting the high pressure
hose and opening the trigger prevents back-pressure on the engine and
makes starting the engine much easier. In addition, the engine is equipped
with a decompression valve which makes starting even easier.
5. Observe the instructions under "Starting To Start Engine Rewind Starter"
in the Briggs & Stratton Operating and Maintenance Instructions provided.

OPERATION
The GPW-2000-G and the GPW-3000-G utilize quick disconnect nozzles which
allow the user to switch between soap and rinse cycles. The nozzle with the
larger orice delivers low pressure (200 PSI/13.8 BAR) and automatically
activates the siphon injector valve to apply soap or chemical. The mixing ratio
for the GPW-2000-G is approximately 32 parts water to 1 part chemical and 40 to
1 for the GPW-3000-G, depending on the viscosity of the chemical used. It takes
several seconds for the chemical to travel through the high pressure hose to
the nozzle. Chemical application is not instantaneous and chemical spray
continues for several seconds after switching to high pressure. The nozzles
with the smaller orices deliver a full pressure, fresh water rinse. They are color
coded by spray pattern: Red = 0, Yellow = 15, Green = 25, White = 40.
To switch from one nozzle to the other simply:
1. Release the trigger to stop the spray action.
2. Pull back the locking collar to release nozzle.
3. Insert new nozzle until locking collar snaps into place.

WARM WATER OPERATION

The GPW-2000-G and GPW-3000-G may be connected to a warm water supply at
a maximum of 160F (71C) to improve cleaning action.
CAUTION: DO NOT AIM AT OR SPRAY HUMANS OR ANIMALS.

CHEMICAL OR SOAP INJECTION

It is recommended that concentrated liquid chemicals or soaps be used
whenever possible as powders may not dissolve completely and may clog the
siphon injector. The dip tube comes with a strainer to minimize contamination
of the siphon injector.
The mixing ratio of chemicals depends to a certain degree on the viscosity of the
chemical being used. Watery liquids are mixed at approximately 1 part chemical
to 32 parts water for GPW-2000-G and 1 part chemical to 40 parts water for
GPW-3000-G. Low pressure spray without chemical injection is obtained by
using the low pressure nozzle with the dip tube removed from the solution. See
"OPERATION" for a more detailed explanation of nozzle use.
APPLYING STRONG ACID OR CAUSTIC SOLUTIONS WITH A
PRESSURE WASHER IS NOT RECOMMENDED.

PUMP REPAIR KITS

Goodway supplies complete pump seal repair kits for each of the gas powered
models. Use the appropriate repair kit order number for your model:
GPW-2000-G Seal Repair Kit: # 2515-SK
GPW-3000-G Seal Repair Kit: # 1548-SK
Pump Oil: # HPW-CPO [1 qt (0.9 l)
